Rofl!

I think the bandwagon just got about 100,000 Australians lighter after this over!

139.1 McDonald to de Villiers, SIX, wow! What a stunning hit. Clobbered that. It was not all that short but AB just swung it over deep midwicket. He flayed that.

139.2 McDonald to de Villiers, SIX, McDonald helps AB by pitching this one even shorter and de Villiers says thanks for the gift and rips it to the crowd behind deep midwicket. up up and over.

139.3 McDonald to de Villiers, SIX, Murder! Full pitched this time and AB kills it over long-on. Lovely clean swing of the bat. Will he keep going for sixes?

139.4 McDonald to de Villiers, SIX, Oh boy What is happening out there? AB keeps going for his flamboyant shots and keeps pulling em off. Whaddaaplayaaa! Full in length and he holds his balance, stands still and hammers it over cowcorner. Now then Now then..

139.5 McDonald to de Villiers, 1 run, AB charges down the track, looking for the fifth six, McDonald fires it in the blockhole and AB ends up digging out. That's that, then.

139.6 McDonald to Morkel, OUT, And a wicket to end the over where AB smoked 4 sixes. It landed on a length around middle and leg and moved towards middle and off, Albie had a lazy waft at it, missed it completely and was cleaned up. Not an attacking shot, just a defensive waft

Why? if every over was like that we'd have them out in 10 overs for 250 runs. Id take that every time :D

The reasons for McDonald not being a part of a future Australian line-up are purely evident in this game. When McDonald bat's again, he should play his natural game, or up it to a level of aggression. I would tip that he will make some runs because he will be free of the pressure knowing that he won't be in the next test Australia play.

Albie Morkel is the reason. He has come into the side with no pressure on either of his abilities and performed as such to give him the confidence to be selected again on both his capabilities while having no pressure placed on him by the selectors or the public.

The desperation to play an All-Rounder is just stupid.

If need be, you pick your next best bowler, or your next best batsman - but that doesn't apply with All-Rounders.

You either have one who demands selection, or you don't play one, simple as that.
Exactly. The closest we have is North and he seems to be the best performed spinner sadly. At least it gives good balance. Means he's bats 6, becomes our spinner and we play 4 quicks with the return of Clark. Seems our best line-up right now.

I don't mind him in the side even if he's not capable to play as just a batsmen or bowler. He does the job which is more then can be said for other's around him.

thats what im worried about.

a solitary 50 and bam.. 5 ashes tests.

selectors have a habit of flogging a dead horse.

Well I wouldn't say they would be because he warrants selection and the only way he shouldn't play if Clark gains some good form in County cricket and the fitness required for Test cricket.

He did extremely well with the ball this tour except for one over, he didn't do as well with the bat but that 68 in the 3rd Test proves that he can bat at Test level.

The only question about his batting is how consistently can he play like he did in the 3rd Test? He's earned a spot in the Ashes squad no doubt and whether he plays or not depends on how Stuart Clark goes in County cricket.

The difference in the 3rd Test was that when he came out to bat, he did so with a positive attitude. He decided to get after the bowlers almost from the 'get go', instead of just trying to nudge the ball around as he had done in his previous innings. If he maintains this mindset he could became a very handy late order batsman, on top of his tight bowling.

He'll go when Clark is back and fit so i don't know why people are worrying.

It's not a matter of Clark saying "I'm fit", Clark needs to get form as well as fitness to stake a claim to get back into the Test team or else we will be seeing Brett Lee come back into the XI when he's fit as well.

Did Andrew Symonds show any sort of form before his Test return?
