Have always said, if I locked my dog and wife in the boot of my car for 24 hrs I know who will be happy to see me in the morning when I let them out

He's done Sloaney!!! ahahha

Been a really s**t and tough year
Roll with the punches. I feel you. My car blew up last month. $10k repair bill. As I get older, I learn to just accept this bullshit happens and it will be nothing more than a story to tell. I’m sure that doesn’t make it any easier for you right now. But I hope it does. Look after yourself.

The foods you should always store in the fridge – and the ones you shouldn’t

Eggs, bread, tomato sauce, Vegemite: do they belong in the fridge or not? Jill Dupleix settles the argument once and for all.

Does mustard go in the fridge? What about eggs? It pays to know what needs to be refrigerated, what doesn’t, and what could be put anywhere.

According to the CSIRO – and common sense – refrigeration reduces the rate at which food will deteriorate. Low temperatures slow down the growth of microorganisms and the rate of chemical (including enzymic) change, the two main causes of food spoilage. Some foods, however, are best kept out of the fridge.

“There is some level of choice in how we store low-risk foods,” says the CSIRO’s Dr Rozita Vaskoska. “Fruit, potatoes, and unopened jams don’t need to be refrigerated. But once cut or opened, refrigeration will help prevent the growth of pathogenic bacteria or formation of toxins from moulds respectively.”

And to ultimately answer the sauce in fridge or no fridge question (seemingly the only non commital answer on dozens of food types…but in the sub tropics it’s definitely recommended.

Tomato sauce: Do or don’t? Some people insist the acidity in the sauce is enough to inhibit bacterial growth. Best to read the advice on the label.

Gosh, how many days until pre season training kicks in….

Tyson Edwards cost us a chance to win the 2006 Preliminary final with a stupid over the shoulder free kick that was completely unnecessary. Were there any other instances of Tyson ruining things for the Crows? (minus the whole Mcleod/Hewitt thing)

Accidentally caught a little bit of Ned McHenry on his fishing show last night on 5AA, was interviewing (I'm assuming) a politician. Damn he was most impressive. Articulate, knowledgeable... and very good interview skills. Quite surprising.

Why?

You think footballers are dumb because… why?
There are not many footballers that come across as articulate or professional as he does in the media (You only have to listen to Rowey by comparison). He’s only a young fella too, so that added to my surprise. He was well prepared, listened critically and responded accordingly. I find a lot of media folk today don’t actually listen to what the person is saying and aren’t able to follow an unscripted path that is lead by the interviewees response. He was very good and it surprised me. Probably because I’ve not heard him speak in public before. I didn’t assume he and all footballers are dumb, as you incorrectly insinuated, just surprised at the level of professionalism shown.
