There are not many footballers that come across as articulate or professional as he does in the media (You only have to listen to Rowey by comparison). He’s only a young fella too, so that added to my surprise. He was well prepared, listened critically and responded accordingly. I find a lot of media folk today don’t actually listen to what the person is saying and aren’t able to follow an unscripted path that is lead by the interviewees response. He was very good and it surprised me. Probably because I’ve not heard him speak in public before. I didn’t assume he and all footballers are dumb, as you incorrectly insinuated, just surprised at the level of professionalism shown.

you should take a listen to NRL players

I was at Harvest Rock and there was a bloke who seemed familiar standing near me. I thought he might be a work industry colleague and went to say g'day, then realized it was Tim Silvers.

I left him alone once I realised ...
Did you call him Orlov?

He was actually in shorts and a tshirt, which was why I didn't immediately recognise him! Had a very chill vibe.
Healthy for an exec to be chilling out in their spare time.

something different in how points are calculated. Port had more wins than the 4 teams directly above them and was a draw ahead of the 5th team above them. Not sure how wins equate to points.
It’s combined between both teams. Their women’s team have been awful.

Women's wins are worth twice as much because they only play 10 of them

Its a great idea to award such a Trophy for best overall club. However, right now its a completely misleading award that's heavily dictated by the AFLW teams expansion. Meaning its hard to take it seriously for now as the AFLW competition is horrendously uneven with over half the teams uncompetitive.

It’s always going to be a “it’s nice to win” kind of trophy though.

The McClelland Trophy was previously awarded for the minor premiership and best club across three grades. All things that clubs don’t prioritise but like winning.

Hanshin Tigers lift Curse of the KFC Colonel Sanders with Nippon League win

Love this story. Can remember first reading about this team, the KFC statue and curse after seeing it referenced in a manga and thinking, "nah... there's no way this could be true."

North, West Coast in the men’s comp are competitive?

Thats not the point of the comment nor is it a shot at the AFLW

The comment is around the clear building of the AFLW expansion teams which are coming from so far back compared to Adelaide, Melbourne, North Melbourne etc. Its unlikely any of those teams will be competitive until the end of the decade in terms of pushing for premierships. Im also aware its not an exact science. Some of the original teams are struggling too. But Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Kangaroos have demonstrated such a sound program that they have survived the expansion. So its going to take awhile for the competition to even out through the draft and trading for the Trophy to feel genuine.

North Melbourne are not a foundation AFLW team, they were in the first round of expansion.

That was long enough ago to benefit. As I said though, not an exact science. but all the expansion teams in the last round are coming from so far back its tough for them right now. Wont be forever. Just for the next couple of seasons.
