Just wondering (not ******** stirring) ... as I'd never really thought about it before, but do the Crows have clubroom facilities in the AAMI complex.

I.e - at Alberton during the week you can go in there look around, look at the premiership cup, see honour boards, have a beer or a meal etc ?

similarly at other SANFL clubs such as Centrals etc.

Yes

I was just wondering if any of you kind folk could tell me if the Shed was going to be open this Sunday. My cousin is coming down from the farm and was hoping to find a place to park his tractor.

Gee another Port Comedian  You went through and dug up a thread from 2001

What your honour board etc etc is in the outer? How would a Port supporter see it going to our games? I thought it was a reasonable question. Obviously you don't know the answer otherwise you might of answered the question.

Well our club shop, administration building's and club rooms are all on the outside of AAMI arent they???? They take up about half of the outside of AAMI Stadium.

Just go into the big Crows building on the outer side, inside you will find everything you are looking for.

I dont know that it will be open for Port games though, infact they probably lock everything thats not bolted down in a safe for Port games. ;)

The other topic they mentioned was getting close to the players after a game.
WTF why? They have just played their guts out and dont want or need supoprters up their clacker wanting autographs and just being annoying.
Those days are over. If you want to get up close and personal go to a club social bbq or something.
Paying your membership money doesnt give you the right to hound them whenever you want.
But Mark they come from Wingfield way these Port boys and at Wingfield you can even join in the fights if you want.

I agree those days are over...if you want to smell and see up close your favourite footballers , go down to your local club , whether it be Wingfield or Sacred Heart Old Scholars or Encounter Bay

Got a quote from west end to back that up?? Or is that the crow party line on the issue?

The fantastic local company that you have referred to is actually a New Zealand company and all of their profits go out of this country. At least CUB is Australian and the profits are retained in this country. West End = Foul tasting brew made by a foreign company vs Coopers= Beautiful beer made by a local company, I know which I support in drinking terms. West End= NZ, CUB= Australia- I know which of the two I prefer.

The Crows arent interested in their supporters or the state. Would the team for all South Australians drop a long time local sponsor of football and the crows such as west end for a victiorian company like carlton?
As for the shed i think its an appropriate venue. If crows supporters actually made some noise and got involved during the game rather than listen to radio so that KG can tell them whats going on then maybe a social club of SANFL standard would be warranted.

Have to agree with Go South in regards to the all we get is a tin shed comments and the treatment the fans receive from the club.

I don't regularly visit the shed and I think the redecorated Crows Tavern is a shocker.

For mine, I think we should have invested in a pub in the CBD by now. It amazes me that we call ourselves the Adelaide Football Club and yet we don't have a presence in the Adelaide CBD.

The Mad Donkey has a big screen, maybe we could congregate there.

Some of these long gone threads make for good reading :)

What ever happened to some of those guys are they back here under a different user name or have they fallen by the wayside ??
Yes it is nice to see a few old threads bumped up every now and then, even one of my own.

Hell it is showdown week, nothing like a bit of good old banter.

You must admit though when the announcement was made it did raise a few eyebrow's and created a few laughs.

I still can't think of a team that plays a professional sport and has to resort to a shed for its clubrooms.

But if that is what you like who am I to argue?

It WAS a shed now it is the social centre for Adelaide FC

Oh and where do West Coast supporters go for after match functions?

They go home because only 200 people can fit in the Bill Walker room at Subiaco Oval

You might have a another look next time you lot borrow our stadium, the club rooms are attached to the outer side. The shed is just for after match do's. The freekin entertainment centre could only just cope with the numbers we have, so what do you do, you use the largest venue you can get close to our home ground.

Incidently I wouldnt expect you lot to understand, after all a shed is a man thing. :p :D
