When Port Adelaide have had 45,000 members - close to 20 years in a row. Then and only then can they can they say they have matched us or even overtaken.

They have had one good membership year in how long?

Biggest bandwangers in the AFL...

100% true. They quote that they are the most loyal fans in the AFL and would never leave at 3/4 time yet when they are challenged about their bandwagon memberships they claim it was due to the SANFL being crooks or AAMI was a terrible stadium. They are the biggest full of shit football club!

If you are true and loyal supporter you support your team through good times and bad, not just the good!

The football community need to realise that nothing is ever the fault of the PAPs. It is and always will be somebodies elses fault when things don't go so well.

Finally a chance to stick it up Poooort Pooower.

Today's announcement that non-ticketed AFC members will have priority access to the Showdown will have two effects

1) It will boost our boundary line members prior to the ticket sales next week (60,000 here we come)

2) It could virtually lock Poooort Pooower supporters out of the Showdown.

If we have 45,000 11 game members then we only need 8,500 of our other members to take advantage of the pre-sale period and there will be bugger all left for the Tealsters. I was surprised that Pooooort Pooower were allowed to do this in the first Showdown this year but despite the highest membership in the history of the AFL there was still room for 15,000 Crow supporters (the bandwagon wasn't filled at that time). I presumed that they would have to leave a certain number of seats for AFC members but that was clearly not the case.

Our target should be to have a Teal Free Showdown (at least it will make it marginally less painful).

I look forward to see how Michelangelo Scumbag manages to spin this. "Yes, Pooort did the same but it's not fair because the Crows have more members, gulp I mean, the Power have the same number of members as the Crows but many of our members don't have tickets to the games, gulp I mean that....................It's just not fair, it's a conspiracy, it has to change............the Crows are using the Showdown to boost their membership numbers....wah, wah, wah, wah........................

Good I was expecting them to claim that Port held back tickets for us, when in reality they just didn't sell them all. If anyone (you know) needs to buy Boundary Line membership to get access to the pre-sale you might as well get a 3 game membership for $35 more, you don't get access to this game but it does give you the same pre-sale access and then the 3 extra games.

Lets make it a Power outage? haha

They also have less premierships than us

Sure, they are "closer" to one at this stage, but that means nothing if they can't get it done on the big stage

Haven't they already won 487 premierships and it will be 489 by the end of the year.

Club 1870 members have priority access before any of your non-ticketed members. I have two such memberships and so could purchase two tickets.

Guess you won't get your wish after all...

I don't remember our Legends or Captains Club members getting earlier access to their game either so I would suggest Port supporters start buying Crows memberships if they want to support their team.

Well that's what we had to do - part of their glorious membership figures include out people that could not otherwise get in.

Only fair it should balance out now.

They can EAD:)

I always thought there had to be some sort of allocation to away supporters?

So did I, but maybe its actually been for the general public, apart from the opposition cheer squad, so perhaps non-ticketed members pre-sale counts as that general public allocation.

There is an allocation for the official Port cheer squad, in section 146 behind the Northern Goals. But I'm guessing if our members take up all the tickets on Monday then None will be available to Port Members. There will be Port people there, in the Western stand, as I assume a few thousand of the 22 Adelaide Oval SMA Memberships would be Port supporters.

Just an idea - how good would the stadium look, if the club organised T Shirts for every seat, with each section being red, blue and gold (eg. sect 130 Blue, 131 Red, 132 Gold etc). Yes it is copying what they did in Round 2, but it was a good idea and it did look good, and would be a thank you to our members, and something extra that we could get with our memberships, as I don't kbow about you all, but we really do get bugger all with our membership packs, the only thing I use out of mine is the lanyard to keep my ticket in. It wouldn't cost the club that musch to do this, you could get a basic T Shirt made for about $20 bucks.

$20 * 50,000 seats = $1 million

Speaking of match day extras, isn't this one of the games Port are supposed to be putting on a Live At The Drive? Wouldn't think it will be much of a success without a big crowd of Port supporters at the game unless they do something about watching the game outside. We know the club is capable of putting on a good pre-game, the Collingwood game proved that, I think they will get this right. It is a shame it's not a night game, but I think this should still be a game we do something for, even go up against their Live At The Drive thing after the game, for free inside the stadium.

I would say they can get the shirts at about a quarter of that, and Port didn't give them to everyone, the top 2 thirds of the upper tiers didn't have the tshirts and I'm not sure the Western stand had them either (not on camera - so like the upper seats, maybe they didn't hand them out) but wasn't paying attention. That said we obviously aren't running with their marketing budget this year as they are in a phase of creating a positive image which they would hope pays off in future years.

Ports Showdown went to public sale after all the pre-sale periods and that was with daily reminders on Fiveaa and The Advertiser that you had to buy a 3 game membership to get in. I've seen a bit of advertising from the Crows but none of that free coverage to promote that people should buy Crows memberships and the pre-sale date and they go on sale in a few days, by the time it gets much of a mention it will be the Monday night before Ports pre-sale day so I wouldn't be surprised if they get a chance in the morning.

That was what AFC Gold members were originally told prior to the first showdown. Poort Poower chose to go in a different direction.

I'm sure there will be a direct telecast at the Ethelton Hotel.

Poort Poower also initially announced that there would be guest passes available to Essential Crows members for the Western stand. They changed their mind over the week end before the tickets went on sale but did not publicise it. I logged in on the Monday morning and found that only Essential Poower members could get the guest passes. Since many only jumped on the band wagon after the Showdown there were plenty of seats available to Crows members (I was even given a teal T-shirt from Haiti).

The AFC have already emailed all of their members who do not have 11 game memberships and have put the announcement on their website.

I think you need to get Cushy and Roochy on to this. It's a bloody disgrace :D
