Barret's Sliding Doors:

North Melbourne

IF Ben Cunnington continues his progress …

THEN… he'll be in the elite bracket of AFL midfielders by season's end. Might already be there.

I saw a picture of Cunners catching a shark with his bear hands. seems appropriate.

Honeybadger actually but easy mistake to make.

Watching QI the other night and they did a segment on Honey Badgers.

Supposedly one of the worlds most dangerous animals... cause they aim for a males nuts when they attack...

In unrelated news Chris Pelchen said to have emerged unscathed from honey badger attack during Arizona trip.

Cunners on Sportsbet paying $67 for most tackles for the season could not resist. ($30 investment for an interest for the year).

Also plonked some money on Libba at $8 you know its good ;)

Just taking this sideways for a sec, I heard a stat that said Swallow had out tackled the rest of the comp by some ridiculous margin. It was in the hundreds if I remember correctly. We're going to miss this most of all.

I wonder if anyone knows exactly the stat? My memory is a bit sketchy?

Edit: this stat is over the last few years.

I know the stat you mean, can't remember the specifics though.

Closest stat I could find was 3rd most tackles since 2007 behind Bolton and Priddis.

938 tackles (since debut) at 6.42 a game.

For what its worth Cunners has 343 at 4.64 since his debut, but like swallow his tackle count is increasing in a positive fashion across his career.

The thing we are yet to really see is the Spitta-Cunners-JZ combination playing at their best. It was clear that when JZ was missing with suspensions that Cunners lifted in responsibility. Likewise in the second half of the year when Spitta was missing, JZ and Cunners really upped the ante and this will carry into the first part of this year. Having these three, amongst the leading tacklers in the league, playing in the guts together with our emphasis on tackling (we hope) will make for a mouth-watering proposition. Could see Cunners, JZ, and Spitta having a little tackling competition between them.

Gun, he gets caught with the footy at times but i would rather him keep it up because when it comes off we exit the stoppages sooooooo smoothly

Never got to watch the game as I was on the road so the radio was my vehicle for receiving the game. And from the ABC call Ben10 sounded immense.

Given the swans mids like hannabury, Jack as and Co have owned us for ages I cant help but think that the delelopment of this bloke goes a long way to changing the tide.

By the sound of the call he got caught a couple of times but I don't mind him taking th he game on with his strength.

Really looking forward to watching the replay.

Building nicely.
