Yeah it is.

Eltham a 5-10 goal better side at home.

Does look like the top 4 are pretty even though.
I think eltham have got most of the players back that they had early last year when they were one of the better sides.

Kew look good and a contender along with st marys. Jury is out on st Johns.

OP's and south will be a big clash as both may be a bit stronger than I first thought.

Tips for this week:

Monash v St Johns. St Johns by 10 points but it would not surprise if Monash win this.

Elsternwick v eltham-Eltham too strong by 70 points

St Marys v Glen eira-St Marys too good and at home will win by 65 points.

Kew v Ivanhoe- Bit of a local derby. Kew move the ball well and have three mobile forward targets but I'll back us to sneak home by 5 points

OP's v South-Game of the round IMO. South have most of their side back from last year and parade have been solid in the last fortnight. I'll go with South by 10 points

This round could start sorting out the contenders from the pretenders.

Round 4.
Monash Gryphons v St Johns
Elsternwick v Old Eltham
St Marys Salesian
v Glen Eira
Old Paradians v South Melbourne
Kew v Ivanhoe

St. John's over Monash by 6 goals
Eltham over Elsternwick
St Mary's over Glen Eira by 8 goals
Kew over Ivanhoe by 5 goals
Parade over Sth Melbourne by a goal.

I thought south morningtons reserves were having a tough time of it. They don't have anything on Elsternwick's. Great win by their seniors today.

OH for some depth.
The senior side hav had a rough road trip.
Half the side have not heard the theme song. But they have now and will sing it again.

Well done to the Wickers on a great morale boosting win over Eltham. A bit of self belief shows they can match it in D2 this year. The aim would be to replicate it every week & look to stay up this year.

Just need to add some depth because their 2's are one of the worst going around.

Surely Glen Eira's seniors are getting off lightly, reserves sides can get blown away, but for a clubs best 22 to concede 50 scoring shots is very worrying...

Was anyone at the game that can provide some insight into what happened???

A day we want to forget down a Ferndale on Saturday. SMS came to play and were far too good for us on the day. I'm not going to try and provide excuses for a performance like that, I dont think anyone could. Except to say that we hope it never happens again. Expect a different side to come out this week.

Round 5 TIPS

Elternwick to continue their form from last week with an easy win over Monash.

Eltham will bounce back with a close win over Parade.

St Johns in a very tight one against Ivanhoe.

Souths by 8 goals over Glen Eira.

The match of the round should be a cracker, but i think Kew are the outstanding team so far this year and will get the chocolates by 6 goals over SMS.

All the best on the weekend fellas.

TIPS
Elsternwick 45 points over Monash
Eltham 10 points over parade
St Johns 8 goals over Ivanhoe
Souths 10 points over GE
SMS and Kew DRAW

A good return on selections last week so lets hope that it continues.

Round 5
Elsternwick v Monash Gryphons
Old Paradians v Old Eltham
Ivanhoe v St Johns
South Melbourne
v Glen Eira
Kew v St Marys Salesian

Monash over Elsternwick by a goal
Eltham over Parade
St. John's over Ivanhoe by 3 goals
Sth Melbourne over Glen Eira by 5 goals
St Mary's over Kew by a goal.

Great game at Vic Park between two teams who will no doubt be looking to face each other again in finals. SMS will probably be kicking themselves for being a bit cocky at half time after dominating the second qtr. in the end the bears had too much run and came over the top of them in an absolute ripper contest! No doubt now that Kew are a contender and should be pushing for a top 2 spot. St Mary's are a good team and I have no doubt they'll be there abouts at the pointy end of the season.

Seeming a very even year with the exception of Kew who are looking very strong.

Round 6
Monash
vs Ivanhoe- Home ground advantage
Old Eltham vs Kew- Be good to see Eltham get up though to keep things interesting at the top of the table.
St Marys vs Souths- If Souths were to win this the race for the four really opens up.
Glen Eira vs Elsternwick- Huge game for both clubs, Glen Eira to record first win in years.
St Johns vs Old Paradians- It seems I had greatly overrated St Johns in the preseason

Hard round to pick with the only result I feel confident of predicting is the St Marys vs Souths game. The rest could go either way.

Ivanhoe over a very hot St Marys rosejam .....I hope your right!

We know it's a big challenge for our club this week and really looking forward to the contest as we had two great games last year against them in the seniors.

We had a pretty good game on the weekend at Monash and if we took our chances a bit more in front of goal could have secured a slightly better result. That said, I can't recall the last time we beat them out at Caulfield, so very happy with the 4 points.

Chump.

TIPS:

Parade over Elsternwick with ease.
Eltham to get back on the winners list.
St Johns by 10 goals plus at home.
A nice easy day for Kew at home also.
An inform Ivanhoe to beat St Marys who are yet to beat a good side.

good luck to all.

maybe check the round 1 results again.... unless you think parade are no good

I think Parade were terribly undermanned in rd1, they are a good side.

St Marys seem to absolutely dominate the weaker sides, but cant get it done against the better sides. Is that not true? If they have a win this week they have proven me wrong.

Todays Games:
Old Paradians v Elsternwick
Ivanhoe v St Marys Salesian
South Melbourne v Old Eltham
St Johns
v Glen Eira
Kew v Monash Gryphons

St Marys proved me wrong.

Chump are they the real deal?

I'm sure the Chump will answer in good time but for me St Marys are clearly the best side in it and I was of that view before Saturday.

I think Kew is second best just in front of parade and not far ahead of Eltham and us.

St Johns is next with Monash and south grouped together and elsternwick and Glen eira staring down the barrel.

Not convined all of the other positions are set in stone though.
