Have been told that Willy's ground is terrible and they will be lucky to play there this year. Possibly playing at Gellibrand subject to availability, if thats the case pack the long sleeves and thermos.

Aquinas had a practise match against North Ringwood (2nd divi EFL) and played pretty well. Typical Aquinas were very hard at it and moved it well when they had it. A lot players missing so will only improve on what was a pretty solid hit out. Good to see the old heads playing well, Tarulli, Colliver, Flynn, Livingstone. With a good mix of these experienced guys back after a full pre season and some really talented young blokes im looking forward to seeing a few Aquinas wins this year.

Correct Ricky Bobby, It was good seeing Tarulli and Livingstone who havent played for a while playing out of the goalsquare together kicking goal after goal on Sunday. And with Colliver doign what he does best being in and under and getting it out to Flynn sitting on the wing racking up the possies as only Flynn can.

The Aquinas ground is in great conditon. We have had a couple of intras on it and a praccy match and also a number of EFL teams using it for praccy matches its in that good a condition.

Anyone interested in playing a night practice match next Friday night 13/4 at Northcote Cricket Ground against Kew please PM me. The team we were suppose to play were unable to play on this night.

Thanks

That doesnt really tell us much.....My mums mixed netball side could beat Latrobe in a game of footy.

your mums mixed team cant win a game of netball... how is it they can beat la trobe in a footy game... go play some marbles

on the other hand, la trobe looked alright from what i saw but only one real stand out, the playing coach, a good pair of mits... bentleigh were too good throughout the day, had a lot of run from the half back line and the midfield was impressive... had a promising forward in the yellow boots... no sun of chris sharp however

Werribee play North Old Boys this Saturday at Soldiers.

It'll be an interesting clash between the C grade NOB's and the Tigers to say the least.

Mick Cunningham is a big pick-up for you Werribee boys. If he's fit he will go very well at CHF or the ruck this year. Not sure if he's played for a couple of years though.

Read on SFL forum that Skye (SFL - Div 3 I think) beat Glen Eira by a couple of goals. Would on face value appear a pretty disappointing result.

Any comments from anyone who saw the game?

Was disappointing, but to their defence they lost 4 players in the 1st half due to injury and had no one left on the bench in the 2nd half.

pretty sure uve got your wires crossed there old warrior because the mick cunningham we have picked up has probably never played in the ruck or chf

but you are correct he is a handy pick up for us but not for the reasons you suggested

Any of you folks interested in taking the cyber-field in a pretend team? :p

Regional Leagues Fantasy Footy League?

Seeking interest in players for a Regional Leagues fantasy footy comp.

This is a) not real footy and b) not pick-a-team-of-AFL-players footy. Its even lazier!

All you do is express interest, I'll do the rest via QOOTY, a crappy random aussie rules simulator I created years ago and have been trying to bring up to speed. FAQs here : http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=75728

I'll try to collate a league of teams that are representative of the more popular local leagues here, so I need raised hands from the posters. I won't make up any names, I won't allow any sudden new arrivals.

So either post here or PM me if you want your Bigfooty alter-ego registered for a team.

Hopefully we can turn some rivalries into some even more potent partnerships!

I'll probably aim for starting the season, say, end of next week. I MAY have to be an inflexible prick with okaying a team and treating latecomers.

For this season, hopefully the inaugural season of an ongoing league, all we need are 20 players per team. There is already a Fantasy league, more closely based on the AFL clubs, at Bigfooty, here : http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=30 - its into its 7th season and has developed a bit of history! There is also another league at another footy forum site, this year with only 3 teams but had been as strong as 5 clubs in its 3 year tenure.

So get in touch if you're interested. Remember you don't have to do anything apart from dob your Bigfooty nickname in for a spot. Please tell me which club/league of regional footy you would prefer to be aligned with (please state both).

We'll see how we go. If it doesn't happen, ah well, if it happens later than I hope ... I'll still give it a burl.

Onward lads! ...
