I'd assume SMS will stay up, this is what's happened in the past.

Hey TT, Andrew 'Burra' Horsburgh has been appointed coach for the 2011 season. In regards to players exiting - we have lost a couple of players already to GDFL clubs, however we are recruiting as well, so it usually evens itself out.

Good luck this year mate, our area needs a good rival, and we are relying on you blokes to catch up!

Sth Melb might be late starting as they are trying to get another coach
latrobe uni i think start this week but no news on their new coach
i think st johns have started it looks like they have re appointed Matt Jones
 
Latrobe has appointed Dan Winkel and have started training so i have read on the VAFA site any more news on new coaches and whos started training yet

For the drop - Glen Eira and SMS, been battling away for a few years and it's tough in these ares to get talented kids who dont get sucked up by private schools. I may be wrong, but I don't thing either team have a junior system either

Very true my fellow rooster. A heap of kids from the Glen Eira area go to De La, St Bedes, Caulfield Grammar etc etc with the best kids ending up with their A & B grade sides. Glen Eira had a U17s last year which was a fair effort considering the number of established junior clubs in the area. Likewise for SMS. Surrounded by private schools with top division senior teams but have done well to get viable U18s up and running. Must be very difficult for these clubs. Would be interested to hear how they go about recruiting when surrounded by private schools, they can’t offer bucket loads of $$ and they have no established junior program such as Hampton Rovers, Beaumaris, Ormond etc.
 
Glen Eira from beaten preliminary fianalists to relegation, you blokes watch any d2 footy in 2010? Glen Eira have an older list but their top 6 are as good as anyones. I would be expecting them to play finals again.
 
It is tough on every team in the lower grade with no juniors to attract players as we do not pay theman money compared with most suburban leagues there is good money on offer if you are a good player
it would be interesting to know which league pays more i would think to two richest would be division 1 in the EDFL and EFL

i dare say baldwyn would pay more than anyone and a close 2nd would be heidelberg (nfl)
 
I have heard the Bundoora have signed one of the Cloke boys for a large sum of money sign on fee and per game
