I'm seeing a couple of jumper clashes as well!!
I've seen at AFL level, the Essendon v Melbourne colours throw up a nice test for everyone playing and spectating.. we'll have the same colours involved with Bentleigh v Elsternwick.
The red, blue and white jumper of StFX also looks like it'll make a colour clash with at least one or both of these sides, especially when StFX are the home side, meaning white (shorts) becomes part of the Bentleigh and Elsternwick colours.
Might just have to pay extra close attention to who's wearing home/away shorts this year if you're good enough.

it would be awesome if we had an alternate away strip - i wouldnt mind running around in an all white number with a demon insignia on the front & blue numbers on the back.

& it would look pretty "lairy" with white shorts added as well!!

Elsternwick have a white clash strip so that should solve that problem. SFX vs SMS is a huge clash. Get in early boys and see Sue Anderson about borrowing a clash strip......you don't want to get stuck with the pink ones....now they are 'lairy'

this is very true... both teams have massive crosses emblazoned on their chests as we know!!

any other designs from the bentleigh lads who frequent here??

The VAFA have sets of Jumpers clubs can hire. We had to do it last year against Werribee. I think they were just blue with a the VAFA symbol on them.

Stewie, clubs ARE able to have their own if they want to use them. Clubs do not have to use the ammos they are only there if they need them.

Team to beat 2009 = Hawthorn (apart from ourselves of course)

Player to watch = C Armstrong (SMS)

Anyone else thoughts

Team to beat 2009 = Bentleigh (dont know alot about the clubs, but if you belevie what you read here, they seem to have recruited well (players & coach) and should be up there in O9

Player to watch = Again dont know alot about the clubs but Robbo from bentleigh is a freak (as im sure everyone knows) and from us, ill say watch out for B.Gatehouse (other than C. Armstrong)

team to beat = st francis xavier. (theyll give a good account of themselves after what i read & saw in the d4 thread & finals this year)

player to watch = joshua melican (west brunswick) ive played against him & i can tell you he makes you check your game constantly...

Team to Watch = West Brunswick, best team I've seen in D4. Very even across the board and managed to win the flag while still missing key personel (Suddholz).

Player to Watch = Dave Daparin (SFX) unsung hero of a very good midfield.

Josh Melican = ONE STRONG UNIT!

Bentleigh.....what a joke....

Here's a tip, they won't make the finals.
Why, you never have to worry about the teams that talk themselves up.

Worry about West Brunswick, Hawthorn, Elsternwick, Uni High. Why, because you haven't heard anything about them.

So what your saying is that the season is defined by big footy.....???

Not sure about that.

Hehe....... Unsung by everyone except himself!

Griff do you guys still have the salesian original jumpers, st.mary's original jumpers and the old salesian scorps jumpers lying around? There's your clash strip sorted? Also since Mick Hazell has been appointed to the VAFA board have you guys been given any hint of benefits (eg Not getting fines etc)???:D

Yeah those jumpers are still around, im pretty sure we have used the scorpian ones before. From Memory I think the reserves used the old salesian ones against Werribee.

Lets hope Haze can look after us a bit!!

we havent said anything that even comes close to this statement.

all weve said is how the feeling is at the club currently.

you need to check the facts, brother...

It about opinions - obviously your opinion has been influenced by the rubbish talk on here, as below indicates

'Team to beat 2009 = Bentleigh (dont know alot about the clubs, but if you belevie what you read here, they seem to have recruited well (players & coach) and should be up there in O9'

exactly right griff. so justafan if big footy didnt exist there would be no premiership favourite? what would you use to identify the "team to beat" then? maybe team lists, recruits, coaches, recent history, etc would be a good place to start. if youre using this forum for anything more than a casual discussion or laugh then youre a long way off. and the last sentence of your post about sums it up. youre telling us these are the teams to beat because you know nothing about them? .................ok then.

Im still not saying that the amount of talk about clubs on here influences anything!

I have seen bentleigh play for a few years now and they have some very good players. I know of their new coach and he apparently is very good also. I know that they have picked up a few quality players also.... so this is why im saying they may be a team to watch. Just because they have been spoken about a fair bit on here doesnt mean they are full of themselves and think no one is going to get close because im sure none of the bentleigh regulars would seriously say that! There might have been a bit of rubbish earlier between themselves but that seems to have died down. As i said, i have seen them play a bit and i dont really know alot about the other clubs at the moment.

Think you will find that they are either in the lockup, 'the wick' or in springvale

47 pages of rubbish before the xmas, 90% on Bentleigh and St Marys.
There is more chance of snow falling in hell that these two teams been 8 and zip before round 9 when they play. They will struggle to get through the first month undefeated.

Season is 5 months away lads, im sure were all gonna be excited by the next 50 pages on St Marys and Bentleigh before round one.

Please dont forget to tell us all when you purchase a set of cones for training or when the new pads for the goal posts arrive

Well if you're sick & tired of it, enlighten us all on whats happing down at your club, you'll be surprised on how many will be interested. Or are you one of these trolls that like to hide behind some comic book character alias & throw sh1t once or twice a month.

By the way the council swept the footpath in front of the changerooms yesterday - thought you might want to be kept informed:p

Are we going to go through this again are we????

Its not our fault if no one else gets on here and talks about their club!! I think if you look closely Phantom, you will find no one has been talking up the two clubs as World beaters, (they may have been the occasion joke ie. 9-0, but take that for what it was, a joke) why would we, we finished last and 2nd last last year. We are just active uses of big footy and enjoy takling about whats going on at our clubs and hearing whats happening at other clubs. As Sniper said, instead of mud slinging, why dont you tell us whats going on at your club?
