I think I missed it- who was missing from OW to cause them to lose on the weekend?

The trainer for one. Must be getting sick and tired of going down to WB.

here are my tips for round 7 D2 seniors:

aquinas to easily account for willi
salesian in a tight one with glen eira
peninsula to beat la trobe well
werribee to smack the pants off ivanhoe
oakleigh to do the same to JOCS

anyone else got their tips?

With you on your prediction Suffolk although I reckon the Wicks may put up a bigger fight than you think

Obviously both. The "going down to" Park Street, WB and the "going down at" Dawson St, WB.

Reports are the OW trainer had a strained look on her jaw on Saturday night - with her going in for treatment on Monday with swollen and red cheeks after supposedly 'blowing up a 1000 balloons!' over the weekend at a party...

Round 7 Predictions big week for the away teams.

St Marys to beat UHS @ Parkville by 24 pts:confused:
Monash to beat Kew @ Kew by 40 pts
Bentleigh to beat Elsternwick @ Ewick by 40 pts
WB to beat Swinnys @ Swine Park by 15 pts
Souths to beat OW @ OW by 48 pts

Good to see some Footy being talked Suffolk, not overly interested in the goings on between OW Trainer and the WB senior side.

Agreed looks good for away teams, but nothing surer in Ammo's is a Home Ground Advantage, Hence

UHS to open account in convincing style
Kew to beat Monash
bentleigh to hold sway away against Elsternwick
Westies, just at Razorback park
And if blowing a gale, Old Westbourne in an upset at Artic Park II

Round of the year with Top 6 playing each other, season really starting to take shape after this week.

It is early days but wouldn't mind knowing peoples thoughts on B&F for the season

For mine: F Dimatina - Bentleigh

A "fooey" Stewart for the reserves.

Maybe a Bentleigh clean sweep.
What about Cracknell from UHVUS

An umpires favourite in a team not so successful - hard in packs. He loves the bump

Nice pic he could be the new Cannane, the umpires just loved that bloke. You could throw in anyone from WBAFC with blonde hair or the #5 for a sentimental vote from the men in white

A little hypocritical of you Hunter taking into account your comments on the matter (31/5)?

Iteresting thoughts on OW/SM. Huge call.

yeah o/w to beat south melbourne is a huge call. souths have conquered all this season and westbourne havn't been very convincing at all. the westbourne home ground advanyage is a big one, but souths did beat OW at OW last year quite convincingly, and they seema stronger team this year.

St Mary's will get over the line
Monash, just.
West Brunswick by 9
Elsternwick by a kick

just happened to catch the a bit of the OW v SM game out at OW, OW very impressive getting out to a 20 point lead at 3/4q time with the help of a 2-3 goals brezze, things started to look bad for OW as SM onballers got on top and kick 3 goals with the wind in quick sucession, but in a geat last 10 mins of constest football telling marks to 14 from OW at CHB and 'jukka' at FF proved the difference as OW ran out winners by 13 points in probally the best 4 quarter display by OW in a few years.

ps. with the 2's flying as well and a small nuggety rover in number 48 proving his worth with 2 classic goals, spots in the senior side may be up for grabs in the coming weeks............

Looks like you and Gav Flower are the only ones that had any faith in us Hunter. As we have both agreed on before home ground advantage counts for a lot in D3 footy and the results from Saturdays games showed that in all results.

South played very good footy in patches but were perhaps expecting an easier game than what transpired. OW to their credit rose to the occasion for Juck's 200th and gave the club three out of three for the first time that they have played snrs, ressies and 19's together at the new facilities.

Am interested in feedback from the other games played, particularly E'wick vs Bentleigh. Koby?? Mcglede??

Saw the wicks beat the Bentleigh Emons Emons.....Notice the D's were missing and so did the rest of the team. Bentleigh were never in it.
Not to take anything away from Elsternwick. They dominated. 46 shots to 13. Including a few posters. Cracker of a game.Umpires were exhausted after the game.

Haven't been to Elsternwick park No.2 Oval to see the 'frontrunners' all season - sorry.

Sounds as if the D brothers missed, but a 100+ point win over a potential Premier demands repsect.

very surpsrised with the elsternwick margin, although i had tipped elsternwick to win, that ground they play on is a great advantage and they play it brilliantly, but they are surely not 100 points better than bentleigh.

The demons have UHS this week and then face OW, WB and SM in the next three. Beating WB in round one showed that they can be a quality side when on song, but as mcglede would say, consistency is very important.

Akka it was with blurry eyes last night I read the results on the ammo's website last night of the Elsternwick-Bentleigh game. Woke up in a clearer frame of mind this morning and read it again - still hard to fatholm.

Excellent victory by OW too - they have a home ground advantage for sure but you still have to win the game and credit to the OW boys for their victory.

Good to see one of the strugglers win too. A good win for Glenn and his team. St Mary's are apparently down a few players from last season but they are still a tough side to play so UHS-VU have done well.

It would be almost impossible to not see one of the strugglers win with 9th playing 10th... All the same, I think a solid victory will see the UH VUS fortunes turn somewhat.
Anyone catch the Monash v Kew game? 7 goals is a fair margin for them.
From what I hear, Bentleigh didn't know what to do to stem the tide against Elsternwick - probably haven't been on the back foot like that in a while. Could be their downfall if teams get an early jump on them for the rest of this season

Well done Old Warrior good result for your boys, results have really opened up the D3 division. 5 into 4 doesn't fit so it going to be a tight run home. Results in away games to Swinburne and Monash (will both give a fair amount of cheek in the 2nd half) for the Top 5 will ultimately tell the story. I hope our tipping is the only thing I'll ever have to share in common with Gavan Flower.

Massive games coming up in Rnds 8 & 9.

Rnd 8
Sth Melb v West Bruns @ South

Rnd 9
Sth Melb v Swin @ Swin (they have lost to West Bruns & Old West by a total of 12 points and from reports most likely should have won both)

Westbourne v Bentleigh at Westbourne

My ladder after 9 (estimate)

Sth Melb 7 win 2 losses
Elsternwick 7 win 2 losses
Old Westbourne 7 win 2 losses
West Bruns 7 win 2 losses
Bentleigh 6 win 3 losses

15 + % for double chance

13+% or 14 wins for finals
