Why would you automatically think it was BHN or SFX??? Could we put in West Brunswick and Kew, maybe Mt Lilydale and Richmond. I mean they have all had a good season so far, if thats the theory you are going on????

2K is 2K Waz. For a D4 Ammo club that is a good wack of $$$. But I agree 10K would have been nice

Yeah its great for us. Even better is the exposure for the club... Most people in Richmond don't know where our ground is or that we even exist. Hopefully we can attract some larger sponsorships as well...

Talk through the ammos is rife with who is getting what, etc
Clubs in the highest couple of grades were allegedly looked at over the pre seasom. It is one thing knowing or presuming to know it is another thing proving - which in nearly all cases is impossible!!
We had a couple of country guys do preseason with us last year who left before the season started cause we weren't going to pay them. They ended up moving to another club for while but I don't think they wound up playing there either.

I have seen many average players come and go because there weren't $ on the table. Truth is that a lot of them would struggle to get a second season anywhere if they were asking for more than $50 a game.
I won't name names... and like I said I'm sure they went back to their old country club anyway. There just doesn't seem to be enough cash for these blokes in the inner city clubs... Funny that!
What bothers me is that every year we get people coming up and asking how much we'll pay them, don't they realise we're amateurs? Either that or they just assume that all ammos sides are corrupt. We had some guy this season ask how much he could get before he'd even had a training session! Pretty confident in his abilities that bloke I reckon. His dad was driving him around... he was only 18 at the most. Bit of a shame really. They took off as soon as I told them he'd make as much as me

When we merged with North Kew at the end of 06 we had one of their players do the entire pre season with us only to go to South Yarra at the eleventh hour for $200 a game. Players are more likely to stick around at a footy club if it's a good joint to be at. .
So Kew is not a "good joint to be at" or else this guy would have stuck around?
Kew is a great club to be around that is how we keep our players. We don't offer cash which is what he wanted. At the end of the day the player liked the idea of getting paid.
Like was said earlier, we are all comedians here. Not a funny one in my case. That's called self-depreciation, Taskmaster. Take some notes.
Will be interesting to see if Richmond's recent media coverage has any impact to their player numbers or supporter base. Will have put them on the map for a few minutes at the very least, plus 2k in the coffers isn't to be sneezed at.
I have no doubt Mr Home Hardware gained a lot personally from the experience!
He'd have to be FREAKIN' AWESOME to make it worth Kew's while to give him a $200 a game. And if any of the other good players found out, that would cause more than a few ripples.
I know in my VAFA playing days if I found out someone was being paid I would have asked questions, and probably cracked it if they were only 'handy' and not brilliant.

bullshit sth yarra dosent have 200 for any player.i think you will find that the merger didnt work due to a few boys not feeling welcome at the new club.south yarra now has about 8 ex nth kew players playing this year.you seem to be going well this year i hope it continues and you win the flag..
