Hi all,
Tags is on the mend - very slow progress. He has woken from his coma, but there is a long road ahead. Thanks to all for the messages - I will copy them and put them on our forum as well so he and his family can have a look.
Thanks all.

Our Praccy at Point Cook was cancelled due to Cricket taking priority so the boys dissappointed.
We host Manningham this week at our Dunnings Road Ground , should give the Competition a guide to where we are at as i beleive Manningham to be on the up this year.

Also Plugger28, not sure of your player Tags situation but i`m sure if your club President was to contact our Club maybe a raffle can be organised between the two on Saturday in support of your players family. Go to our web page for contacts.

Apart from the few matches already mentioned does anyone else have any praccy matches this weekend and who against?

Swinburne playing South Yarra (SFL) this weekend. Looking forward to our first hit out for the year.

The mountain men take on Mt.Evelyn(YVMDFL) this weekend and after having our intra-club run two weeks ago I'm pretty keen to take on some true opposition, then the following weekend we host Eely Park which I think will be the 3rd year in a row we play them pre-season.....Anyhow I'm getting pretty toey for the real stuff gents.:footy:

chadstone play sandown cobras(SFL) this week and surrey park(EFL) next week.

We're on the starting line gents....

The boys will be getting in some driving practice down the freeway to Point Cook this week. Unfortunately I won't be - although I am going to see the Pixies tomorrow night - so it's not a bad replacement (for me at least).

I'd say the entire competition will get a pretty good pointer for the season ahead. Manningham will have some outs (as will PC at this time of year), but a significant result either way would be a pointer to a pretty good year for either team you'd think.

Good luck to all.

Tips for practice matches tomorrow:

Point Cook in a high scoring and fast moving game
West Brunswick over Monash in a tight one
South Yarra easily over Swinburne

Anyone else playing?

I'm predicting a boil over... Manningham to beat PC.

Monash to spank a depleted WB

South Yarra? Don't think they'll have the numbers at this time of year. Swinburne for mine.

Southern Cobras to defeat Chadstone

RC to beat Belgrave by 1 point.

Lilydale to beat the Evelyn boys.

How can you predict a boil over if P.C is yet to play a game. Do you know something of P.C that we don't know WAZ? Even so after tomorrow there will be no more flying under the radar for the P.C boys. Will be interesting to see what happens come the last qtr if P.C are up by a far way. Got a feeling the old fox of a coach may just put the hand brake on and ease them back a bit. Good luck to all in praccys and no injuries. Cheers:thumbsu:

Just going by the clearances page, PC have done a remarkable job of setting their footy club up to be successful. Whether that translates to the park, well we'll get an INDICATION tomorrow.

And yes, I hugely doubt that any coach would be pushing for a massive shellacking at this stage (particularly against a club they have to play this year).

On the other hand, the Cobras would love to smash them. :D (Actually we'd love a good hit-out. New players to the club need to learn how our coaches want them to play etc. Much more important than the result.)

North Brunswick play Uni High next ground over from Brens Oval (their home ground) tomorrow. 2 matches - reserves at 11am, seniors at about 1pm. Organised on fairly short notice after we had a side from another comp bail out. Good on UHS-VU and North brunny coaches for being happy to tee one up quickly.

Should be a good hit out after a couple of intra club scratch matches with all the boys very keen.

PC have been everyones preseason favs... so if they lost, it would be a shock... However... Manningham will be better than expected.

How did everyone's practice matches go?

Was told that Monash beat West Brunny by a couple of goals in a good hit-out for both clubs. Monash would be happy with that result as they had 5-10 seniors not available. :thumbsu:

Was down at the P.C/ Manningham game, reserves was pretty close with P.C just in front. Seniors, P.C where about 5 goals up at half time when i left.

Point Cook ressies won by 39 points.

Point Cook Seniors won by 20 odd points.
