Daft Punk coming to Australia!

I'm aussie and i don't see the fuss.

Daft punk are shit on the world dj stage.

We need tiesto, ferry corsten etc.

There was a pvd concert about a week ago and i didn't even see a thread.

Corsten and Tiesto are both huge but they're more trance dj's. Daft Punk are the biggest name in house music and to say they are shit is moronic.

Tiesto would be huge if he came over.

After last Friday, there's not much more I really want to see. I doubt I'll ever leave an event with a bigger smile on my face.

I've heard Lifelike is coming over sometime next year which would be rather pleasing. Apart from that all I really want to see is Daft Punk in Europe and Underworld closing a festival/event, like the following;

After that I reckon it'll be time to hang up the boots.

It's never time to hang up the boots!

Although I now know that my concert going career has hit it's highpoint. It's all down hill from here, unless perhaps I get to see Armin Van Buuren or Tiesto in europe. I'll be interested to see how Chemical Brothers and Digweed go in March though - should be awesome.

I'd also love to see Basment Jaxx out for a full tour as headliners, I saw them at Big Day Out about 6 or 7 years ago and they were unbelievable.

It's been 5 days and counting, and I still have a huge stupid looking grin on my face.

I'm just jealous of Sydney people who are yet to see it. I know what they're in for and I'm just killing to be them right now.

To say daft punk are shit on the world dj stage is a bit stupid. Their alive tour has proved that playing infront of packed crowds all over the world including 100,000 in las vegas.

Paul Van Dyke was sensational playing his sunrise set at Kryall but if i had to choose between that or Daft concert Daft wins hands down. You need to broaden your musical horizons and appreciate daft punk for what they are.

That 100k in Vegas, you aren't talking about coachella are you?

Cause from most of the reports I've read there was about 15,000 actually watching them on day 1

I would console yourself by getting on a flight to Perth/Brisbane/Sydney and tickets to the show.

Can't get away from work at this time of year :(

Plus we've got family flying in from Interstate in the next few days, and I'm heading up to the Whitsundays for NYE.

Hopefully they'll come back sooner rather than later.

No one knows. Not even Daft Punk themselves. They said they don't even know what they are doing next year.

Perth Show -

It was held on Sunday 16/12. Thats all i have got for you. Words wont even come close to telling you how good they were. If the Presets had of played for longer, at night and with a light show, my god, they would have come close to topping the show. I cant believe how good they are.

1 criticisms, and its not really that critical. Dafty's set was abit predictable. If you have heard there live album, well you heard the set.

However, the Album is fooken wicked and the seeing them live has topped everything else I have seen.

Imagine seeing them in a small club in France.

First time, I've been able to get back to my computer, my god the most insane/amazing/incredible actually f*** words, they cant describe it. The lead up to the show was the most intense thing i've ever waited for, loved cut copy aswell. Have loved Daft Punk forever, couldnt believe they were coming, my god that made me happier than anything i can remember.

Ahhh, just got back from Melbourne.

1. I ****ing love Melbourne, don't know why I was so long between venues
2. Everything that can be said about DP has been said, you know how I feel.
3. Sidney Myer music bowl is a horrible venue. Sorry to all that disagree, but the way it was set out you had to choose between dancing and watching. NFI how you have parklife and summadayze there.
4. Melbourne onelove was the duck's nuts.

Agree with everything you have said. For me Melbourne is the greatest city on earth. The music scene is great.

Just on the bowl for events like summadayze and future the seats are taken out and a dance foor is built above them. Parklife is not held there.

I know, while everyone in my hotel was scatting out and wahing about Melbourne I was walking around the place, checking out the laneways, St Kilda, pretty much anywhere I had time to.

I'd move there but I'd die without surfing.

My mistake. Still, you should make the effort to get up here to see Parklife at centennial park or Field Day at the Domain, both are huge, open, grassy spaces. One has a lake! :D
Shotties, i take it you weren't in the stalls. I thought it was brilliant in there.
The hill :( It wasn't BAD, but I don't like the fact that if you wanna dance you have to go up the top of the hill.

ha ha up the front of the hill was awsome. everyone was shoulder to shoulder just jumping around spreading the love. So much randon hugging and kissing.

I reckon I high fived about a thousand different people.

What I love is how the media the next day report how there were three (non-fatal) Od's out of 15,000 people yet make no mention of the rampant racist patriotism you see every year at the Big Day Out and Falls, or of the consistent good nature and lack of violence amongst most major dance music events.

Big time, me and my mates have been debating the last week whether we enjoyed the Daft Punk show more or the after party.

It's neck and neck. What a brutally awesome night.
