Nah, that's weak man.

**** those kids, just tell them in a way you cant get caught, however there's only like a 000.1% chance you'll get caught anyways.

Liek that chick that pushed in for the photocopier, you said she saw you right? that would have made my blood boil. Just say something nice and easy like "Wtf are you doing?"
Huh? If pissing and moaning about it semi-anonymously on a football chat forum doesnt qualify as "doing something" then I dont know what "doing something" is.

Wrong, when you don't pay adult fare, then you ****ing stand up, or pay full fare, can't have it both ways.

mantis, I couldn't disagree more.

Students get a discount because they are students; ie they are young, can't hold down a full-time job and are, theoretically, investing in their & our future.

You and I pay more because we have the opportunity to work, and thus have a greater capacity to pay the full-fare.

I don't believe we should then have the arrogance to demand a seat because "we've paid more"... we've paid more because we damn well should.

Don't worry - I get on at Blackburn, and it's touch & go if I get a seat; and I ****ing HATE standing, cos I read The Age.

But I ain't gonna go telling some student who got on at Lilydale that they need to stand because I paid more, when I'm an able-bodied healthy mature adult, just because they don't & can't earn the same coin that I do

Sorry Lance totally disagree, it's not because they can't afford it, after all their parents are giving them the money, people who are going to work spend a lot more time at work, than kids at school.

It seems the "working families" crap has taken over everything.

This is the attitude that pisses me off the most. I catch public transport twice every day with a heavy bag, mostly with a completely full bus and no seats available. I'm sorry but I'm not going to stand up for some prick just because he pays more than me. I do my fair share of standing up for the elderly, and so I'm not going to just surrender my seat for any old adult. If I was a 30 year old man and I took a seat off a 16 year old kid with a big bag I'd be absolutely disgusted in myself.

what? Their parents are most likely paying for their own transport; and anyway, who says their all from rich backgrounds?

Who cares how long you're at work compared to school? Why should I be able to get on at, say, Glenferrie and expect some kid from Croydon to give up their seat? Not to mention, that as an adult you're more mature both physically and mentally.

I'm surprised by your attitude on this one tbh. It really smacks of WASPy right-wing old fart syndrome, sorry :p

oh yeah, all kids are rich, with rich parents, and buy cocaine & single malt scotch for their lunch break...none are poor and let's face it, they are all ungrateful little shits anyway.

lol you are a decrepit old bag of bones. No offence

OP was ok I guess...... man some of the posters on here are douchebags though.

Pro-tip: People are morons, by and large. This has been a constant throughout all of human history.

And generally ****ing depressing and low self esteemed old people, complaining about foolish self obsessed young idiots, is just one expression of this.

To the OP, I understand your pain but grow some balls for the rest of us and next time say something snide.

To the people who bitch about kids dressing up to much, people being lady boys or some other thing, do you even remember some of the outlandish shit people have worn over the last 50 years?

Sounds like you are complaining about people wanting to be one of the crowd, just because they don't adhere to what your version of the crowd should be.

Yep, good post. Agree with the people saying this has become a thread for losers and oldies to whinge about today's youth.

I used to have to walk to the bus stop and the n to school and back home carrying two bags full of text books plus my sporting stuff.

HTFU you lazy piece of shit..geez.

Funky what is it with girls wearing ****ing party dresses to go to class?

You know they've spent hours to prepare themselves, and for what? to sit down listening to a lecturer... surely there isn't sufficient reason to be that insecure in such an environment? or is it the urge to outcompete your fellow females and look the best? the downside to this that such girls don't realise is that ppl can see that you're trying way too hard for your environment.

Or even worse...

The ones (often the ex-private school girls) who turn up in their year 12 jumpers, trackies and Havaianas trying to pull off the 'I don't care' look, but with done up hair and layers of make-up.

They're not fooling anyone.
