Thanks for 2010 Daisy, enjoy playing Kick to kick with Mick before games.

I'm glad my daughter didn't like him and preferred Swanny and his tatts, but I feel terrible for all the kids who wear his number and idolize him. Will be the most hated defector since Peter Moore.

Name a decent midfielder playing for Carlton that wasn't a top three draft pic or traded in from another club, GO.

You're going to say Kade Simpson doesn't count. :D

To be fair, most of their decent midfielders are top three picks AND traded from another club

I don't understand why so many Collingwood supporters are upset about this. He has given us good service had two years of nothing with his bad ankle and is not going to improve on what he has done so far. Pies will now get pick 11 as compo and a lot of cap space. It's a win win. Also somewhere down the track we will get someone to the club as a FA will you guys be crying about it then?

You're wrong. Most supporters are happy he's gone.

I am hearing rumours that his ankle is not in good condition, did the blues get the ankle checked out?
Nah, we are just considering taking him on 'spec'.

Seriously though, he was reported to have been examined by at least 3 specialists & was given the thumbs up by at least 2 of them. This is only what has been reported in the media, so who knows.

I would hate to think we knocked Thomas back like Collingwood did with Stevie Johnson back in 2006, only to see him continue to play good football elsewhere for a number of years.

I think 2 out of 3 said the ankle could heal with rehab and be fine. The other said another operation but denied it was the same problem that kept him out this year. Knowing surgeons the default position is often surgery, particularly with the ankle that is a very complex joint. I wouldn't say Thomas is out of the woods but the guy is a professional he's going to do all he can to get back.

The thing about Thomas is he's not an every game elite midfielder, I don't think he ever has been like a Pendles or Swan. But he's shown he's a big game performer and even when he's not at his best he is dangerous so you have to pay him attention the other way. Also has versatility to play half back, midfield, wing or half forward. And considering Mick was so keen to sure up his backline he sent one of his best mids (Simpson) and most dangerous forwards (Walker) to the backline whilst also trying to get better in the post full time Judd midfield having a guy with versatility is worth it's weight in gold.
