Lol. That trade at the top of the page cannot be real??
Unfortunately Twomey is probably one of the more credible scribes "in this space".

As you’ve said, I can’t work out why we are trading out our F1 and taking on Atkins. It's nothing against Chewy. It's that the info he's revealing is damning about the club. The responsive anger is directed at the club.
I reckon it’s Cripps or even Davies himself.I obviously have no idea but Chewy’s messaging aligns with what I would expect to hear from Richardson
Just the F2 instead of F1 is enough. That would explain the Ratkins move. The deal works if we give our F2 instead of F1 & receive pick 23 instead of 29.
If GCS are willing to part with 6 & 23 for Rioli, & we sign off on this reported deal I’ll be buying a GWS membership next year & dropping a bag of shit at the front doors of Alberton.
Atkins would be the first ever crom we have taken from memory
Rubbish, signing 4 kids below 30 isn’t solving our depth issue for 3 years if they’re all lucky to be played, which is unlikely. If I was a club mouthpiece I would be shouting from the rooftops claiming how good a deal this is.
I personally think this deal sucks, but I'm also privy to the gamesmanship at play and understand that sometimes you need to take a bit less to keep things in your favour down the track.
The optimist in me is looking at it thinking that if they can potentially package 36 and another late pick they get from the Atkins part of the trade, get a pick perhaps in the late 20s, then split 13 for 19 and 22. From there they have 4 picks in the top 30 of what they consider to be a very strong draft. Could potentially solve a lot of depth issues, and whilst Houston is a big loss, anyone who thinks a half back flanker is the difference between contending for a flag or not is kidding themselves.
Because it's the player managers who run trade week these days. They get the deals done just like the soccer agents get the deals done in Europe.
Insert Gif Won't somebody please think of the agents...I'm so glad port are keeping the player agents happy to help us get all of 0 free agents in the past year and pay overs for not top ten types every year!
Not Chewy’s fault although I sense (understandably) he is a big fan and somewhat defensive of his contact who may be quite close to list management.
Unfortunately Chewy gave us reason to hope that the club had the balls to sack Ken and they didn’t, and reason to hope that the club had the balls to not deal with Collingwood and the “arrogant” Leppitsch. Bottom line is that hope is almost extinguished on both fronts now, and we are back to being a pathetic organisation. Even Chewy’s sources are looking pathetic and spineless.

Mate, you got your quoting problem sorted. That’s a little trade week win right there.Sack Chewys contacts.

Just so happens he manages Atkins! Big fish we were after! LolI'm still getting head around player Managers doing the trades moreso than clubs.
If this is the case, why are we getting reamed and Collingwood getting a wristy...such a bullshit soft club we've become.
Who else does Paul Connors manage?
I'm expecting Motlop type output from Luko. A few good games, but ultimately never quite at the level we need.Lukosius and Richards would want to be very good players for us to right this trading period nightmare.
No it isn’t, a professional organisation shouldn’t have staff leaking this much stuff so freely.Watching Chewy316 cop heat because they're revealing too much (again) is nearly as funny as the initial Atkins reaction.
Could not agree more.I'm expecting Motlop type output from Luko. A few good games, but ultimately never quite at the level we need.
Richards will just be another fringe small forward playing pointless 50 games until another option appears.
Hi contact is clearly Rob SnowdenNot Chewy’s fault although I sense (understandably) he is a big fan and somewhat defensive of his contact who may be quite close to list management.
