Chewy316 if you really do have an in, you should get them to read this thread and see how ****ing furious our fans are and how confused every other teams fans are as to why the club would ever in a million years do this deal. Maybe it's not too late for them to see some sense. Have they not pissed off the fans enough?

They hate next year's draft. 7 of the top 18 players apparently are academy or F/S selections, and it's no where near as strong in terms of depth.

They're still not sure whether they're going to accept the deal - but it's trending that way.

Port have been fücked over by Paul Connors and the political feud between Gold Coast and Richmond.

I get the vibe that Port allowed Paul Connors and Cùnt Sport Management I mean, Connors Sport Management to fück them over.

You simply don’t trade your 2x AA players that are part of your leadership group to your direct rival, especially after the shenanigans that their list manager has done.

I don’t care about any feud between GC and the Tigers; if GC wants Rioli, they pay up for him.

The AGM can’t come quick enough apart from Tredders; they all deserve a pitchfork to the head, and you can rely on my message to the people that you talk to, Chewy. Thank you, mate.

Chewy316 this BS that your sprewking about 'the gamesmanship' etc is just club spin. If the deal reported by Twomey comes to fruition then we are seriously pathetic. Can you imagine if you Houston played for Geelong and it was us trying to get him in how it would play out?
I suspect this has been leaked to reduce the supporter expectation with the real deal being marginally better in the hope it's more palatable.
Bottom line is our negotiating is weak. All along we should have been dealing solely with North for pick 2. If North weren't happy that fine, he stays at Port Adelaide. F*ck I'm getting angry just typing this.
Most Footy related things we do is a joke, I'm sorta getting used to it. These are the types of decisions that will make sure Port is always the poor cousin in SA, oh well someone once said, you get what you deserve.

We're about to eat shit including trading out an F1 for the second consecutive season. It's listbreaking at this point. We're never getting looked after down the track.

Ah the ever mythical “we will get looked after down the track”

It’s a story as old as hinkleys tenure.

I wonder when this fabled “down the track” will arrive and what riches it will bring.

If we can get an upgrade on Atkins it’s not that bad . Don’t see the point of Atkins , mustn’t have much faith in Mead and Lorenz and Richard’s for that matter I expected somewhere around 15 and 17 for Houston and give up around 45 for Richard’s , so we get 13 and the two lower picks 29 and 36 instead of 39 and 58 , hmmm marginal , would we have got Richard’s for 58 hmmm probably not and 39 was too much . Admit it doesn’t excite , it’s kind of evens but we were hoping obviously for a deal in our favour as Dan was still contracted .
The other deal was always looking like a future first with a bit back , don’t know about Ratkins there , so I’d consider that deal unders particularly if we’re paying overs for Lukosious and Atkins salaries . We could get better than Atkins in the delisted pile .
Just have to hope the pick upgrades pay off and we get decent players at 29 and 36
So overall not great but not worth throwing in your badge about .

Let me just break this down in case I’m missing something:

F1R for Lukosius: very, very generous to GC especially if we take on all his salary. We’ve overrated him big time with this. We lose this part of the trade.

Houston for pick 13, 29, Richards and a whopping three pick upgrade from 39 to 36. Our club insiders and mouthpieces will talk this up because we value Richards so highly. It wouldn’t have been acceptable if we got pick 23. It’s less so with pick 29. We lose this part of the trade.

Pick 58 for Atkins - are you ****ing kidding me?

It's a request. It's not even a demand, he said he's happy to come back if the deal doesn't fall through. We could just say no. The fact that we didn't is entirely our fault, not his.
Well I believe it started as a request but things can change fast when you got other people (pussy) involved.
Woman are like that pal, it starts off with a this would be a good idea then it’s do it if you really love me bs.
I’d even have a small wager his girlfriend is a Collingwood supporter 😉

This the same crew that traded out our pick in this years draft for Rat and Soldo where everyone else is trying to trade back into?

It's legitimately worth not having access to a Connors managed player for a decade if it means we don't make this deal.
Imagine a world where you and your client signed a massive long term deal with a club, then you were able to extort that same club a year later to forget the commitment you made, the planning they were doing, etc, and force them to throw you away for less than your worth, because otherwise you'd be unhappy.

Just unbelievable. I couldn't give a rat's what the manager thinks. We need a return that is worthy of the player. Even the little touches in this deal of 29 and not 23, Ratkins without any benefit to us, etc. it's just shit all round.

It doesn't matter how bad next year's draft is. It really doesn't matter. Trade Houston and our 2025 1st next year for a pick in the 2026 draft.

They just can't make this trade. It's horrific. We're losing Houston for pick 13 and chaff. We could just keep Houston.
Not too mention from next year you can trade futures for 2 drafts ahead

But he doesn’t want to, and Port won’t look Daniel in the eye and say you are being traded to North. No one at the club has the courage to make decisions like this. It’s been evident for years. Daniel had a preference and Port have honored it. That is not Daniel’s fault.

I’m disgusted by Daniel’s club of choice as much as any of you, but Port have seemingly allowed this farce to play out.
"Daniel, your options are go to Norf or stay at Port"

Are we so soft as a club that we can't put those terms to him?

Can we bomb Chris Davies and Jason Cripps' email like Hawthorn fans did decades back when they heard Campbell Brown was involved in a deal for Burgoyne

We can't upset anyone in the mosh pit love fest which is Port Adelaide, so I expect we will surrender whilst picking up the soap.

I personally think this deal sucks, but I'm also privy to the gamesmanship at play and understand that sometimes you need to take a bit less to keep things in your favour down the track.
This is a cop out. I don't buy it for one second.

Why are we the only club that appears to be playing the nice guy approach.

Our entire club from top to bottom is the nice guy club. We lack any ruthlessness. From the 'stability' and limp wristed approach to Ken, to the mediocre cruise control team we watch weekly, to the trade table where every year we throw away draft currency to play nice guys every year.

It's friggin ridiculous.

We've completely abandoned the creed of our club.
