This should've been set up as a bidding war from the start. Dan, we're happy to trade you to Victoria, but we'll be taking the best offer. If you don't like it then you can stay. Use a desperate North to start the bidding at pick 2 and then force the others into a bidding war.

Why would you trade him to make one of your competitors stronger? Both Colllingwood and Carlton will be around us on the ladder next year.

EIther trade him to North or no deal.

In all honesty North could go past us in 2 years. There's only 2 sides that I don't fear going past us in the next couple of years Richmond and West Coast.

Because our #1 goal is to make finals, premierships are all about luck according to everyone in management at Port

We have 9 days to get a trade. Im loving the interest being developed from other clubs most notably Collingwood in DAY 1. This creates more hype and demand which is exactly what we want as clubs become more willing to give more as the Trade period progresses.
Houston hasn't nominated a Vic club which goes to our advantage.
Port have told Houston if we can't get you to the big Vic club (Carlton) then your best chance of moving to Victoria is to join North (5 year contract on good coin).

Or the other alternative is to be at Port for 2025 season which again would be win for us.

North Melbourne is OUR safety net in regards to this trade
It would be a win win situation for all and wont make our competitors stronger for the 25 season.

If a single mid first round pick is what Vic media are labelling as - I reckon we’d get the exact same value next year.

So what’s the point in trading him?

FFS you’ve got leverage Port. Just keep him if need be and send a message to the comp.

North should be given every chance to sell a future to him. The only attraction to Collingwood and Carlton is that they are Collingwood and Carlton. Both of those clubs underachieved last year and both can do same it next year.

The deal put up by Collingwood doesn't work and won't work. How it's getting traction in the media has me beat. Nobody is getting Houston for what is in real terms 15.

The Vic media are not doing the deal.

No way 13, 23 and Richards is enough

If they can’t get another first than another pick in the low 20s has to come as well. I don’t care how they get it.

Then we package 23 and the other 20s pick to GWS for either 15 or 16

Because the vic media don’t think Houston is worth as much as you do pretty much
