Daniel Harris on the trade table

Re: Daniel Harris

I dont want either of those players at sydney and we definitely do not need Harris( My Grandma is faster than him) and yes we need a forward, but Jones doesan't have the presence like buddy, hall, fevola or brown.
Er, are Buddy, Hall, Fev or Brown on the market?
Swans Trade O'Keefe and 3rd round pick for Harris and 2nd round pick?
North won't go for O'Keefe, and we won't trade our picks.

Re: Daniel Harris

I wud be happy for harris and jones for collingwoods first round pick number 10.

We have 11.

Im a big Harris fan. A lot of people are saying that his skills are too bad...to slow etc.

He is a dominant clearance player with real guts. It's very hard for us to replace Buckley/Burns/Licuria, so we need some toughness back in the midfield.

We lack a bit in pace, but i reckon we lack more in solid bodies.

SO if i were on the recruiting panel i would chase hard.

Obviously the bias factor comes in. Rhyce Shaw has asked to be traded. So his name would be the place where i would start.

Obviously Harris carries way more value.

I think Collingwood's best starting point would be to upgrade our 2nd round pick.

Names such as Rusling or Ben Johnson coupled with our latish 2nd round pick should upgrade us to a pick inside the top 25.

Couple 25 with Shaw for Harris and a late pick.

For what it's worth, Rhyce was having his best season to date until it fell to pieces at the end. Also played a blinder of a game on Judd. Both players are out of favour with their clubs.

If Collingwood can snare Cousins and Harris in trade/draft period...the midfield is all of a sudden tough and full of clearance specialists. It allows Didak and Davis to spend more time on the ball as well because the toughness still exists. Would also be the perfect chance to thrown Dale Thomas onto the ball to add flare along with Pendlebury.

You're right about one thing, Sydney is the last team we should be dealing with. They don't need Harris, and they've got nothing we want anyway.

You're playing with yourself.

Two quality players for 1 draft pick? Top 10 or not, and Jones may have his injury concerns, but I've watched him tear teams apart. If we were to lose those two, I'd expect a bit more than pick 10 and nothing else. It's a moot debate anyway, Jones isn't going anywhere.

Re: Daniel Harris

I would be happy to land a second rounder, 22 on its own would be fine. With the new teams\draft concessions and it being a pretty strong draft it would be compensation enough. Atlhough i will be saddened to see him go.
Maybe if we could move harris and jones off to a side for a 1st rounder and an upgrade of a 3rd rounder. Your thoughts on that pls??

if a single team wanted both those players, then that might be a good deal for both teams but it's unlikely that there's a team who is chasing those two players specifically

the Roos might get that price as some sort of complex multi-club deal but the problem is that the more complex a trade becomes, the more fail points there are on the deal - doesn't mean it can't happen, just means it's even less likely to happen

i'm tipping the Roos will be offered a draft pick for Harris that is not too insulting (somewhere between 15 and 30 perhaps???) and they'll bite the bullet and move him on

peace

North won't go for O'Keefe, and we won't trade our picks.

If we could turn Harris into O'Keefe with the only cost being our second rounder becoming a third rounder, I would do it within half a second.

thats fine because I would not want jones at collingwood anyway. We have enough of his type.

I'd stay well well away from that.

O'Keefe is an outright star, no denying that, but we aren't a year or two away from a premiership. To be bringing in "the difference" would be hurting any chance we have of properly developing our list into a title tilting one.

Most teams who win flags come from nowhere. Hawthorn is the first of the so-called 'tanking' teams to have that success, and they got more than 180 goals from two players to do it. How do you know we're not a year or two away from a premiership?

Re: Daniel Harris

'Cuz we can't mentally win finals even though we have the cattle to do so. Our midfield gets smashed alarmingly often and in that lapse period we seem to lose the games. If we can fix that we're all good :thumbsu:

Re: Daniel Harris

Neither was Aaron Hamill, but you gave up pick 4 for him. And in a comparison to Corey Jones, he's comedy material.

Mate C Jones wouldn't be fit to lick Aaron Hamill's gonads as a leader or a player (before injury crippled him).
