With the rumor mill in full swing over Kerr's future, especially since hearing from mike sheehan....

Kerr wants to come to Melbourne to resume his association with former teammate and housemate Judd at Princes Park.
The rumour is gathering momentum. Carlton, predictably, is aware of it.

None of this is fact that he is leaving, but, if he came out in september and asked for a transfer to Carlton, what would we be prepared to give up? would we want him, or would the cost be to much?

I think he would be an awesome inclusion to any teams "on field" performance, but as Fev knows, were stamping out off field misdemeanours , and its an area that has plagued his career.

I for one would not be happy to loose any of the young kids we have put together and i can't see us getting another priority pick to trade this year. And even more disappointed if we lost players down the track to salary constraints!

For me the cost would be to much. We have a sh*t load of awesome talent on our list and maybe one KPP away from a fully developed list. i would prefer to take what picks were given in the draft and chase that last CHF/CHB missing link!

No/Yes

He wont leave. While judd had family over melbourne, Kerr is a west aussie boy, really cant see him leaving all his friends and family to hang around with judd
Sounds like a pretty ordinary theory to me considering you would know SFA about his family life and/or relationship with Judd.

Can we afford him? I am sure there is a way we can fit him in to our cap depending on how desperate he is to join the Blues.

Do we want him? We have the perfect person in the world to ask, Judd. If Judd says he is a complete basket-case, then the answer is no. If Juddy, thinks Kerr can stay out of trouble, then yes.

With the midfield that we have and the talent that they have i dont think we need him. If we could pick up for next to nothing and salary cap was not an issue then sure. Prefer Ashley Hansen :)

At 24 (turning 25 in May) it would be unwise to simply ignore him if he came our way. I would be more than happy to see him in the navy blue if he came as a result of a second round pick and jordan russel(yes i probably am dreaming) but i would be against him coming as a result of one of our young guns going to wce. At this time though it would be unwise to suggest he will be coming to carlton, God knows we don't need to start the dark days over again.

We do not want to get back in the position of taking seasoned players. We need to take the hawthorn attitude, the youth rule. Now they are playing great football. This is what we need to do.

Those who dont think we should get him will be the 1st ones to hail his signing. When fit and firing he is seriously in the top 5 midfielders in the comp with Judd, Ablett, Bartel, Hodge. If we can aquire his services id say do whatever we can, albiet at the correct price and wont harm us in the near future

I think we should do everything in our power to get him.

We want to win our 17th Premiership and this guy could certainly help.

We would have to give up a bit for him, but I don't care as long as it's not Gibbs or Murphy of course.

Hansen no better than Fisher,Edwards,Hartlett.

Plus we'll be playing Kreuzer forward when Hampson & Jacobs become our ruck combo.

I don't want him at our club, if this was asked 12-18 months ago i would of said yes. We do not have enough depth to be trading up, maybe if it was rutten or glass then maybe. And when it does come to trade week and the draft we need to recruit to our needs, not getting the best player available.

Hell yes get him, at the right price of course. You can never have too many gun mids.

But I'm sure we're all dreaming.

we've got plenty of gun mids mate, we prooved that on sunday. we have holes in our defence something chronic, you only have to look at our percentage of rebound 50's.

however if Darren Glass was looking at making the move it might be a different story id say! :p :)

Hansen takes more marks up the ground. Hartlett has berely played a game and edwards should play as a small forward. The only one that could play CHF out of those players would be hartlett and as i said he has berely played a game.

jacobs and hampson? cloke out of the picture? you would play those three ruck options? too many considering kruezer and hampson by themselves can both be no. 1 ruckmen why would we play a third.

Ofcourse we'd take him,if he's going to get 30 touches a geame it might aswell be with the blues.
Its easier to teach a young kid how to defend and spoil than it is to teach him how to get 30 touches in the middle.

Save our money. Russell will eventually be better than Kerr.
ROFL! :D

How funny would it be if we managed to get Daniel Kerr as well? It would cost us a bit and it would be a huge shame to miss out on a first round pick from the upcoming superdraft but Daniel Kerr would be worth it. Gun.

I would offer Houlihan, Bentick and our first round pick.

PS: I've also got to laugh at people who are saying no. Are you people serious? Daniel Kerr is routinely named in the top 10 players in the league and occasionally named in the top 5 and you want to knock him back because he did a few stupid things when he was a youngster? If you're going to be that picky lets kick Matty Lappin out of the coaching team and sack Fev and Scotland from the playing list.

Jesus Christ.

I don't know how we'd be able to afford him to be honest. Lets be realistic. We have Judd Stevens and Fevola all under the one cap, with guys like Murphy and Gibbs to be damanding a hell of alot more in future years.

I guess St Kilda do it somehow - but God if Carlton got him it'd be amazing.

What if it could be done but only if it was a 3 way deal involving Stevo going to another club?

Why don't we get Kerr and J Brown?

Also, I heard Dean Cox doesn't like the Eagles any more. And Ben Rutten has decided not to sign in Adelaide. Also, the entire Geelong backline said they want to play with Judd. Riewoldt is tired of the limelight at St Kilda and wants to play HFF for the Blues. There's a rumour that Ryan O'Keefe AND Adam Goodes have had a major falling out with Roosey and want to come south too.

FFS...
