Possible if what I'm hearing around Adelaide is true...Apparently while Daniel Kerr was in Melbourne for the Dream Team he was involved in talks with senior officials from Richmond. Kerr wants to leave WA and Richmond is prepared to give up disgruntled veteran Joel Bowden and Richard Tambling and possibly their 1st round draft pick if required. Sounds more than a rumour to me...what do you think?
some serious flaws there. Firstly, its a load of BS. Secondly, why would we want bowden, who is old and wouldn't get a game in our defence, and tambling, who will probably never live up to anything near what his potential was or his hype, and a first round draft pick lower than our own, for an A grade mid who is contracted until 2009? One of Deledio, cotchin, Foley or riewoldt would have to be involved or GTFO. The only clubs i could see making a big move for kerr is collingwood (who have nothing we want that they would be willing to give up-no pendlebury, thomas or brown) and essendon(who's best trading assett to us (gumbleton) has just re-signed and they would probably not even consider trading ryder). The other is carlton who really have notihing to offer us short of murphy and there would definitely be some reluctance to trade with them.
The kangaroos might have a go but once again, all they could offer is wells plus draft picks, which is iffy at best.

Ahhahahhahahhahahahhahaha.

Sorry, you're serious?

Ahhahahahhaahhhahahaha

If a deal was going to occur, there's a limit to how much value any player would go for. But a top 5 pick, a guy who would add pace to your unit, is young, and going alright this year would both fit.

I assumed Bowden would be on-traded for another pick, since he isn't of an age you'd want him. I personally find it hard to believe a club in the premiership slot wouldn't look at him with a late 2nd round pick (unless he's a lot older than I thought).

deledio+pick 3-8+2nd round if for Kerr+Seaby looks about right. Richmond get a certified A grade mid and a young but proven ruckman who is ready to either back up ruck or be first ruck and West Coast get a younger, quicker mid who COULD be as good as kerr, plus a top 5 pick in a good draft with the oppurtunity to pick up yarran or hurley, and a nice pick in the top 25. Would prefer to keep kerr but if we had to trade him-e.g. if he wanted out, or the management were fed up with him, then that would be around the money.

Richmond look like getting say between pick 5 - 8 so they would need to add a quality player OR a player and swap their second round pick for our 50th.

I rate Foley and Delideo as high quality and Jake King as good, Tambling ?????

Pick 5 + King + pick 19 > Kerr + pick 50

We need a good small backman / mid.

You're dreaming mate. Richmond will NEVER trade Deledio.

you wc supporters must of forgotten when tamberling kicked 4 goals in the first quarter against ur mob..
this years a very good draft?
our 1st round pick and king should certainly be enough
kings leading the running bounces tally or sumthing?and has a great mind set( never say die, like foley)
but king is a req player atm for richmond unless raines takes the small defender role.

According to Bartlett. Richmond are in the box seat :p

Maybe they can do a father/son and take both. Kerr elder is coaching the tigers in the WAFL at the moment and could do with getting out of the state to avoid the media spotlight. Like father like son, they just can't seem to keep out of trouble.

I wouldn't be surprised if we traded him in line with our new "cleaner" image while he has some value and is still in contract. Just a rumour from someone I know in the media. Barnaba has stated that the club's image is a huge priority, more important than winning games it looks like so far.

But I doubt Kerr wants to leave at this stage.

Hmmm, do you think the Eagles "We want Wells" episode was an attempt of hinting at a Kerr trade?

Article about Kerr.

Star West Coast midfielder Daniel Kerr has moved to quash speculation he is keen on a move to Melbourne, saying he is happy with the Eagles and wants to sign a long-term deal with the club.

Rumours have been rife that Kerr wants to follow good friend and former team-mate Chris Judd to Victoria.

But Kerr, who is contracted to the Eagles until the end of 2009, said he was happy in Perth and had no intention of moving interstate.

"I've dealt with the rumours earlier in the year. I'm contracted this year and next year and I'm not sure where the rumours have come from," Kerr told Perth radio station 6PR.

"I'm definitely not the one starting them, either is my manager. I'm happy at the Eagles and it's strange it's come up again really.

"I'm more than happy to stay in Western Australia. I'm happy to be with the Eagles.

"I've got a lovely girlfriend, my family's here, why would I move?"

Kerr, whose glittering 150-game career has been overshadowed at times by his errant behaviour off the field, said he would be eager to sign up to a long-term deal with West Coast if one was offered to him.

"I think every player would," he said.

"I don't think there's any player in the AFL who's happy at a club that wouldn't like a long-term deal."

West Coast coach John Worsfold said he was unfazed about rumours his star playmaker could be on his way out.

"Those rumours have been around for a long time and I've spoken to Daniel about them in the past. There's no use continuing to talk about it because they are the same rumours," Worsfold said.

"We know where we stand with each other and that's all I need to know."

Kerr also dismissed rumours he was yet to sign the club's strict core-values agreement.

"I've signed it the last two years and so has every other player on our list and I think our administration has signed it," Kerr said.

"If you mess up with our core values you get taken in by Darren Glass or Adam Selwood, so it is player driven to maximise our ability to play football and to maximise our ability to stay out of trouble.

"It's more about making the people at the footy club better citizens."

Forget swapping the last two picks but pick 5 + king for kerr? sold!
