Wouldn't be ahead of Ablett, Hayes, Pendlebury etc

Well I think at his best he is, I've always rated him high.

Far more dealy with the ball then any of them IMHO, and tough as nails.

Shame injury has interrupted his career so much.

It's bloody exciting to think he may be injury free next year!! could win a brownlow...

That's what we said this year.

He got a hip and shoulder from Lovett-Murray and was out for three weeks.

And he'll be ****ing hurting after today. Get's absolutely smashed every time he gets near the ball.

We need experienced bodies to protect him, like RoJo in 05-06. He smashes hard into contests and will get hurt often due to the way he plays.

TBH, I'm not sure how much you can protect a bloke who plays like Kerr. That clearance he got in the last quarter where he attacked the ball with complete abandon and at about 300 kmh is suicidal ... thats just the way he plays...

He was magnificent tonight ....

I think people forget just how good he was. He was runner up and only one vote behind Cousin for the Brownlow in 2005 and came third in 2006 (beating out Judd by a vote). Both these years were with Judd and Cousins taking their fair share of votes.

Gizza, IIRC he is actually a two time runner up in the Brownlow. He is an absolute champion and when at his best, is up there with Judd and Ablett as the best midfielder in the game. He was the difference tonight. Judd was well beaten by Scooter.

Carrazzo was trying to tag him and absolutely cleaned him up with a dirty one way off the ball.

I think we would have lost the game without Kerr, even when he doesn't get stats he is diving for that ball and putting his body on the line.

Might not get the stats some of the premier midfielders in the comp do...but Daniel Kerr is a dead set gun. Effective, does all the hard work in and under, and super classy. When up and going he is as good as any.

Actually, yeah, he came runner up in 2007 too. Though equal with two other players and well short of Bartel who won it. So over 2005/6/7 he came 2nd, 3rd and 2nd in the Brownlow count. Without a doubt in the top few midfielders in the comp when at his best.

gun midfielder who gets better around finals.

Has always had the talent.
Let's not forget it wasn't always injury that caused him to miss games.
Has taken him 10 years to mature as a person.
In some cases it has been a waste of a huge talent.
Let's hope it's all good from here on and not just another tease.

Where has he been for 3 years? His clearance ability has been phenomenal all year. BOG in both games against us this season. Tore us apart.

It's unfortunate but a guy who plays like Kerr picks up injuries:(

Especially in past seasons when he had nobody to help him out.

Have to admit that my rating of him dropped of massively in 09 and 10, but he's been dynamic this season. Is the Cox-Kerr combination the best in the league?

Hard to protect Kerry from himself. :D

Probably the third time this year he's come back from an injury and been BOG, had a brilliant year and was superb tonight.
