Hopefully he has an injury that will rule him out of action for the next 17 weeks, and the only physical activity his doctor prescribes has to be completed in a dark confine within the Westpac Centre away from prying eyes.
Shagger's back. These Moores could become a multi-generational Collingwood dynasty.

G'day guys -

here's the update on Darcy Moore.

Hey guys, for those who don't know - AFL Bloodlines tracks the week-by-week progress of key father/son eligible selections in this years and next years draft, as well as covering players who have connections to players past and present.

Thought you'd all be happy to know that Moore is absolutely flying.

Hi paige, thanks for the update.

You recently said Moore is 204cm but he is listed elsewhere at 199, do you know which is correct? 204 seems extraordinary for an 17/18 year old

Anyone read Sunday Session article "much Moore of the same" I think in the Herald Sun?

Said that 1 rival recruiter would take him at number one right now given his form and athleticism- will definitely be a top 5 pick and clubs will make sure that we pay full value for him. Had him listed as 201cm.

Also mentioned that Sydney will get a bargain with Heeney. Do they have to take him with their first pick?

Only if other clubs bid their first round pick on him. Considering 'bargain' is a purely subjective word it's a bit hard to tell without actually knowing exactly how good he is. But considering Sydney's 'good relationship' with other clubs has likely deteriorated over the last couple of years, I wouldn't be surprised if clubs force them to pay his full price, whether that is a first or second round pick.

Is he any good?

Why would you want him to be Injured?

I wouldn't have thought I'd need to spell it out, Dave, but here goes.

If he was injured (or 'injured') then he is not able to perform on the field, therefore it will be harder for other clubs to assess his actual ability, therefore it will be more of a risk to bid for him with a high pick, therefore it is more likley that he will be available at Collingwood's second round, therefore there is a better chance we will come away from this draft with two key position guns (if we used our actual first pick on another KPP)

Is that clearer?

Well then that would hurt his Development and we don't need more Injury Plague Recurits

They are playing Qld they will just be resting him up.

It is not that extraordinary I am 203 and 18 years old.
How many of your mates are the same height?
Have you considered that you might be extraordinarily tall?

221 - that's older than Yoda.

Hmm...extraordinarily tall I am not?...judge me by my size you do?

Thanks, much appreciated, especially as he is looking so good.

How does he stack up compared to Boyd from last years draft?

At a guess he's in Europe with the AIS AFL Academy?

JB I think the horse has bolted with your assessment of the situation. Everyone knew what Moore has to offer the only problem were the results and as brief as it's been in the first month of the season as a tall he's done enough to justify top 10 selection.

If he were a mid he'd definitely need to put up more results, but with these super tall KPP you only need snapshots of what they'll become.

He is not part of the AIS AFL Academy

Since when? I must have missed that taking place between now and last Friday.

This article states that he is and I haven't heard anything about him being dropped from the academy???
He wasnt dropped from memory he wanted to step aside and concentrate on getting his body right. In saying that he's missing from this week's squad due to a minor wrist injury (i think just some bone bruising) listed at 1-2 weeks.

Thanks for the clarification.

I thought that he stepped aside from it in 2013 because of his hip, but having a wrist injury would explain his absence this week :thumbsu:

Moore is sounding like a very exciting prospect. I think we are just going to have to live with the fact that we are going to have to spend our first round on him.

If Hine and co really rate this draft, I think they could make a play for another pick around the top ten so we can pick up a slider. Players like Durdin, Wright and McCartin will be gone but a Goddard or a Lever would be around 10 and they can really help boost our KP stocks.
