700k rumours true?
Would be shocked. My first question to Pickering in that scenario would be ‘what makes you think Darcy is worth more than Treloar, Sidey and JDG?’

Say we have a Real lack of KPP and He go on about his Potential Upside. Also how Important he Could/Is to Teams Structure.

Though 700k Contract is still Overs. 500k Max

Yeah exactly right. Play a full season and yeah maybe it would be close to the mark. Until then, it’s significantly less.
I like him but we have so many injury prone players, we just can’t afford to throw big bucks at another one.

If Darcy thinks he can take us to the cleaners because we lack KPP then he can **** right off. I don’t believe that’s the case though.

With his history I'd be offering 400k plus games played/performance triggers that can net him up to 600k on a best case basis. The next contract would be the big one for him if he ticks all the boxes.

Doubt It but I say his Manager would Start There and go from There

The Moore camp believed at the start of the year that he was worth 800k, we've supposedly had a 600k triggers/incentives offer on the table all year.

The optimist might say that we've split the difference and that maybe we've just found a happy medium...?

If true that is ridiculous.
He has done nothing to deserve that sort of money.
Once again if true it just goes to further my opinion that he is a self centred, drinks his own bath water, figjam flog.
I don't like him I tells ya. He rubs me the wrong way. He is our Goddard

I'm sure we have an offer on the table based on current output and Moore wants to drive it up with some solid performances towards the back end of this year. I just hope that he doesn't let the speculation mount into the finals and has something sewn up in the next month. I know there's not a lot of chatter about it at the moment (thanks to Lynch) but I'm sure it will come.

If the show pony thinks he is worth 700k he can f right off.
Done nothing so far other than keep our medical staff busy.

I think even if he didn't have a goal scored on him in the next month and averaged 25+ disposals and 10 marks, I still wouldn't be giving him 700k.
Now as much as I am not a fan of his, I'm not so stupid as to think he doesn't have real potential.
But...show it, prove it, and then ask for dollars.
Demanding pendles type money when you have done sweet F.A riles me.

For a club willing to back their medicos and conditioning team in to get him right he might get anything up to $550-$600k/year over the next 2-3 years (maybe $350-$400k base with game payments / performance clauses for the rest) upon the open market. If a team, I dunno say maybe one in the vicinity of the Lost Dogs Home for example, was desperate they might be willing to throw another $50-$100k per year on top of that.

Having said that I don't think there's that level of demand as the clubs with good off field teams are either already well stocked for talls or wouldn't want to (or be able to) give him that sort of money.

If he actually reaches his potential then his next(?) contract entering FA will be the big one and that's probably the direction Pickering is leaning towards - trying to get him on decent money over the next 2-3 years with the prospect of landing that fat contract after 2022.

Darcy's in a pretty good situation with our list composition at the moment (guaranteed a spot either down back or up forward if his form and fitness is there) in a team that is now looking like it is built to play to his strengths, so the onus is probably on our off field team to get him on the park consistently.
