Poulter and Briskey living with him.
Yep, I’ll pay that. Would be great to see him in the leadership group this year. I don’t see him as a future captain but definitely a leader.

The current Captain has the goals on the board hanging with his Normie and premiership medallion alongside his never ending top 3 finishes in the Copeland , year after year of his magnificent career
Agree, his CV is unmatch and maybe he can be captain for the next 2 years. You wouldn't put it past him to be top 3 in the Copeland again because he polls better than anyone at our club in the Copeland and Brownlow, even when some perceive he's had a relatively ordinary year by his standards.

Hear. Hear. , he will step aside as skipper at seasons end and play out his final season of his illustrious career without the title of skipper. Yep too 3 in Copeland again this season. Once in a generation player

Agree. I believe the club decided that for 2022, some stability was required after replacing the coach and staff, and the President and other board members.

One last year for Pendles as skipper….and then an orderly handover to one of 4-5 candidates who are all eminently qualified.

The catch with Pendles having an 'ordinary' year is that his injury free years are simply slick and fuss free quality - which means his 'ordinary' years are just very good.

Yeah, I agree. The only thing I would like Pendles to improve on is limiting his opponents but the opp mids have been killing us this year. Then again he will be a defender do he will be judged on goals kicked on him etc.

To a certain extent - although if he can be Mitchell like and create from the backline that would negate the goals.

Would he more likely play the +1 role?

My takeaway from that leadership announcement is that Darcy is looking like our next captain. A man for our times, I like it

The rest are too Old to be Captain in the Future
