I was keen to see Moore play fwd, once we bolstered our defensive stocks, because I think he'd make a gun fwd. Given he now has both the size and maturity compared to his early days in the position.
But our new game plan has him intercepting and streaming forward, pin pointing 55m passes that initiating aggressive counter attacks.

Not sure we can replace that blisteringly lethal counterattack with anyone in our list, so my view has changed, and he stays back.

I agree.
A great example was the play that saw us beat the Bummers.
Darcy's athleticism & skill were critical, (although all the players in that chain were critical!)

After an average start to the year this bloke is now in career best form and you could argue right now he is as good as any defender in the game. Has been superb

Definitely should have been in the AA squad based on his last few weeks.

This. There is no other defender right now doing what he is doing (locking down a KPF and just going all out in offence on the rebound). Will be the skipper in 2023

I thought we had potentially made another contract error with the length and money involved.

Worth every cent and hope he takes on the captaincy, lives for the jumper and our fans.

Playing unbelievable football right now, his form arguably better than his AA year.

It's been huge for us that he's been getting more of the ball of late. His counterattack is his best asset, especially as a big.

I'm sure we'll look to pair him with a more defensive tall next year to further unlock this part of his game.

Ball use and movement from defence has been a perennial issue for us. This year it has been hugely improved, mostly thanks to Nick and Darcy, Noble also having an impact. Moore being further freed up and Quaynor lifting his attacking game, will be important for next season.

Runs even better than his Dad

For parts of the season he was just doing a negating role which took some drive away from us.
His improved form seems to be traced back to the inclusion of Murphy at the expense of Madge. Moore, Howe & Murphy seem to works so well together. Just need someone to play on the gorillas and its the perfect backline.

That could be where Frampton comes into the picture. 201cm & 100kg.

Got a huge task this weekend, his role will go a long way to helping us win the game!
Likely gets the job on Buddy, has the capabilities to exploit him with his rebound from denfence.
In saying that the pressure upfield needs to be manic to assist Darcy to ensure his positioning is spot on.
Massive day ahead on Saturday!

Couldn't agree more with this. Will also need his creative kicking. Rushed, dump kicks out of the D50 will just come flying back in. Him and Daicos are exceptional at finding a risky target, but nailing the kick.

Interesting to see Peter Moore has flown from his home in the States to watch and Darcy posted him drilling a goal at the SCG. He was interviewed briefly and said he did not expect to flying out to the prelim and indicated it's a stretch for us to win this year.
