Just listening to Luke Darcy on SEN suggesting that
the Blues should trade Fev at the end of this year.
Said Fev will never play in GF for the blues and we should
get rid of him while his hot and worth something.
Interesting.

Problem with newish ex-player commentators is they forever feel the need to say something bordering on controversial as a way of justifying their role.

The Ox is another one who flaps before thinking. Mind you if Fev throws a paddy this weekend, I completely agree with Darcy. :D

They tend to 'over spin' it at times.

Hopefully no tantrums from Fev this week.
kick another bag.

I wouldn't rule it out. Lets just see whats on offer at the end of the year.

As Gilly has stated it's going to be a strong draft but theres also some speculation about some gun players who could be on the move also. Ofcoarse you don't let Coleman medalists go for peanuts, but he's stuffed up enough times for us to definately see whats out there.

darcy was never good enough to play in a grand final himself so basically he has no credibilty at all.

darcy = worst special comments in the league

To me it is not saying that Fev is gone, more that for his own sake should leave to play in GF.
Agree he is a goose though, we have been down for so long and rebuilt. We will be back very soon and watch out all the teams kicking us whilst we were down, especially Bulldogs, Collingwood and Richmond who have never done anything anyway

Think you're being a bit unfair to Schwarta!

at least they have givin their members some joy.

The Pies mission statement is and always has been "near enough is good enough" i.e. within excuse reach of success, hence the familiar end of season bleatings from Pies supporters that we all enjoy so much e.g.

"...we were within one kick of....",
"...if only player x and y weren't injured we could have made the GF....",
"...that umpiring decision cost us....",
"...that tribunal decision cost us...",
"...our pre-season was too long..."
"...our pre-season was too short.."
"... the draw was against us...."
.. etc etc.

The Pies supporters use their imagination, aided by some HUN-Collingwood overhype, to fill in the gap between their failure-reality and success-fantasy. :)

Would anyone entertain the idea of a trade for Nathan Brown of the Magpie variety?

He's the sort of player we could build our defence around enabling us to move Waite back to the forward line to build our attack around...

Fev is 27.

Forwards can play well up to 32, and 33-35 can squeeze a couple of years ala alistair lynch.

Suits fev well since he is predominantly a leading forward; as opposed to jono brown who prob can't do shit when he's over 31.

So we have another 5 good years, and another 2-3 after that from Fev.

At our rate finals next year looks probable; and next year top 4 contenders. All depends on how our backline develops; and how nuts murph and gibbs become.

Imagine: Judd, Murphy, Gibbs all in their prime; with N.Stevens playing a S.West type role.

Fev will be needed in that time...please shutup darcy. i liked u as a player; but you're a noob commentator still.

There is no way Fev is going to sign a contract with another club and leave his clubmates and Judd.

In theory, its a good option to get more young talent by offloading Fev, so when the likes of Gibbs is captain, we'll have that many gun players (ala Geelong).

But the thought of it makes me sick to my stomach to hear that fellow loyal supporters are suggesting (and agreeing with Darcy) that an outstanding goal kicker inthe entire history of the club be traded off at the end of the year

Scott west gets in and under and gets the hard ball. Stevens wont do that for us.
