Good to see young Fieldsy must be getting some fitness back after a early season break. Kicked 5 yesterday and named best player obviously brings out his best when he plays top sides. Natone look pretty strong this year. Also congrats to old man Baldock who chalked up his 100 on the gravel yesterday and still managed to kick a couple, one of the toughest players i have ever seen!

Yep Natone look good - Gardner, Jones & Fisher played well. S'set had their share of the ball but don't look to have the "polish" of South & Natone at this stage.

Still a little way to go but Somerset have a reasonably "easy" run home now, playing Queeny, Cuprona, Ridgley,Yeoman then some tough ones in Yolla, South and the Pies again at the backend of the year.Yolla are a very physical side with good young blokes , Natone way better than 09, South better than 09 as well and the Roos quick and well structured as well, intersting times ahead for all within the 5 and pushing for finals spots

Game of the round this weekend South Burnie Vs Natone top of the table clash.

We will see where South Burnie is at this week they have not been putting teams a way like they should. But they are still winning. Natone have a good young Midfield that will touble South Burnie's. I was told South Burnie backline didn't stand up last time.

Na I thought the backline did ok. It makes a backmans job really hard when the ball is coming onto the 50 fast and often. I just think Natone were alot better on the day. Will be a good game this week and hopefully we can bridge the gap abit which I think was 10 goals!!

I was just trying to be "politically correct", someone needs to tell a couple of our umpires that it is about the game, supporters and the players-not them :D

Be carefull Moocher , you may get the NWFA'S best export back to umpire you again. The dreaded Scott " bull " Gale .Don't wish him or his sidekick "Webby" on any league !.

Sounds like overall the NWFA umps did a good job in the eyes of most, appears that they may be ahead slightly in these stakes as well as the playing as far as the Combined game go but it is good to see some new faces on our panel this year alah Stazz and Chet that actually played the game at a reasonable level thus giving them a greater understanding of emotions on the ground

If I see chett umpire another game for somerset I'll spew there's a big difference in getting your team back in the game and blatant cheating which I witnessed first hand on the weekend

True i guess South will have to get on top in the Ruck so the midfield can get on top.

Is Brad Davis still playing or has he left for good. And where is Big Rob Willscroft has he played at all this year.

Webby is consistent at both cricket and footy-consistently bad !

Spot on moocher , Webby definately has the WOW factor. I believe he staged a walkout on the bcl umpiring last year ?. Had previous form I believe , called a footy game off in the NWFA a few years back halfway through the last quarter ( sheffield v preston ) as he had lost control .!!! Like I said , he has the WOW factor . Walk.. Out...Webb... !!!

Hope he does not read this as he will put the power out in Burnie ! BCL umps were ok last year without him doing much in the A'S , as with footy and players , everyone makes a mistake or two, just get on with the game-over the journey I am convinced it all evens out

Natone was very very good last time we met, they tackled and ran very hard from half back and really dominated south! will be a cracker game!
Umpires this year really need to be looked at, getting worse and worse.Maybe time to bring back blakey! The only good one this year is ellis jacobson!
As far as the nwfa umps that did south v somerset they were nothing short of shit. But they were shit both ways which is one good thing i suppose!
Ridgley and Yolla are going to be very strong come finals time with yolla going to make a big impression, strong bodies and most have played a lot of footy...

Leave Webby and his DRUNKEN mate BLAKEY umpiring in the LEVEN association. We dont want them back at Darwin level any more. BLAKEY is a known cheat when he has a whistle in his hand. He won many a game for Queenstown in his day.

I like to bring up this debate from time to time. Who is the best player playing in the league? It's still Nigel Coulson for mine. Went and watched him a few weeks back and he still gets a huge amount of the ball. Opinions?

He is certainly the hardest runner and does run both ways, his record and form probably has him right up there for sure

Thought I'd jump on and have a look at what's been going on.

CHF Adrian King. Great set of hands, brilliant finish, and knew when to hand the ball off to runners. An the ground he covered was unreal, made Mouse and Willy's job easy. Mind you Matt G knows how to run the same spots as Ado.

Like the number 8 spot. But Towna and Milo for pure football smarts must rate above some of the others. Brilliant footballers and top blokes to boot.

But the best player when I played was Nick Barnes, we would not have won the games we did if he didn;t give our onballers the armchair ride he did. Credit to the disciple of the swan
