Re: Darwin Football Association Part 2

Cuprona are deep in negotiations with somebody, Perry should coach Penguin as Lingy and Carp who have both put in for it are embedded with the poor "culture" that is part of them not performing, Baldock would have played at the Dockers but because Plappy got shafted he will not and even though contracted to the Cattery is considering a move elsewhere-because of the National Privacy Act am not prepared to say just yet-, too much of a public space here to disclose names fro m Mad Monday however watch this space for the ensuring cosequences, yes Justin was indeed axed by the committee and it will be the best thing for him and his family to get away from all the crap, he is better than that, and Chalky will definately not chase or tackle or even hold his spot in the zone because that would mean actually moving from the square !
Sounds like Somerset will be holding onto the bulk of their players from last year (Burgess won't be about & the only other doubtful starters are Randall & Mitch Bessell). They seemed to under achieve last year - not a bad group of players - might a fresh face from outside the Club to coach & get the most out of them.

Re: Darwin Football Association Part 2

I here Coulson to stay at ridgley and Barnes to bench coach. Saints will still be the team to beat.Anyone have any thoughts on this.

Couls is in for Latrobe with 2 or 3 others and should find out today whether he gets the gig or not.If Couls and Barnes do not play they will lose a massive amount of on field drive however their record of turning players over and STILL winning the big one gives them the right to be favourites again next year no doubt.

What make you say burgess wont be around, the group is very young and if it wasnt for a certain umpire on the day they would have got 3rd which was needed as there were 11 new faces from last year playing and in a 16 round roster match needed more time together. Wont matter who coaches if they all stick together.

Burgo lost his licence again after being appointed as Assistant coach and because he lives in Devonport someone had to collect him Saturdays, he did not socialise much after the game and did not train much due to the driving issue.I think it put a massive strain on the committee which they maybe can do without next year.Sure, he can come back off his own back but the Club is cutting down on some player benefits till they respect it, both on and off the field from what I am led to believe.

Re: Darwin Football Association Part 2

had a beer last nite at pub and heard an intersting remark made by konsie about cuprona, something along the lines of-it would be good to see them pay a bit of the money that they owe us.... this was in regard to their president being in paper yday getting another hand out from a buisness in burnie, didnt hear any other comment about it but it was said with a bit of disdain

They have money currently to pay Konsy and the fact the current president will not have an involvement next year at committee level will be a good thing from what I can gather, any prospective player and or Coach would meet with the new committee anyway, fundraising activities to pay Kons and the like are in motion as we read this

Re: Darwin Football Association Part 2

South definately with big Horse Davis signed for next year

I concur Mooch, South going to be very strong with Brad Davis in the side, in the ruck and pushing forward will be very handy at the ripe old age of 37. I know the Tassie Super Rules team are very handy to get him with them!

I concur with you Still Kickin, Brad Davis at 37 will still be the best player in the league. South will be very hard to beat now with him and Strett in the line up. They already have a pretty good side. I think if they are able to get a key forward they will win it for sure. They have got a few players that kick 20 odd goals a year and If they get a guy that can kick 50-60 they will be very hard to beat!

Your kidding. Couls way better than Brad. If Brad was sooooo good then why did he get ass-holed from Fitzroy when they were bottom and flat broke? You people are naive. Sure Brad was a handy player, but very surprising to see him move out of his comfort zone.

Your kidding me arn't you mate? You are fairly well known for talking shit but this has got to take the cake. Just the fact that he got to Fitzroy has to speak for it's self. Brad Davis easily the best Ruckman in the state and has been for some years now! Worst call I've heard this year. Stick to what you know!!

Good to see high profile players attracted to the Darwin, what's the go with the rumours he was asked to leave the dockers? watched him play against clarence and although struggled fitness wise never lost a tap.

Dear lord Dennis, that was your worst call for 2009! Has been if not the best ruckman Tassie has produced! Excellent tap ruckman. Single handedly one some games for Burnie this year with his ruck work. Doesn't give much around the ground anymore due to his age, but still dominated the young bucks in teh SWL this year! Will tear the Darwin up and Carp for that matter!

He will not play Super Rules as you have to pay your own way !
