Re: Darwin Football Association Part 2

if chalky does take the dogs job on who will take training over the pre-season as chalky is right into his cricket or has he got an assistant coach to take training.:p

Maybe the dogs could come train up at the port, chalky could make them run laps while hes in the middle not giving anyone a go on strike on thursday nites :D

Re: Darwin Football Association Part 2

I heard that the cuprona football club havent looked else where because i heard that chalkly had told people from the club that he was intrested before the dfa season had even finished. I dont think they will fold some one would coach before that happend to the club.:thumbsu:

No fear the dogs would fold, they have been around for a long long time, whilst they havent had a lot of success over the years, they have pulled through, they will be around in some form or another for a long time yet.
Clubs like Natone,Cuprona,Yolla,Queenstown,Ridgley are the life blood of small communities, they give old farts like my dad something to talk about :D

Heard from a senior player at somerset that it was still while they were playing and leading into the elimination final, dog of an act if correct pardon the punt.

He told them in no uncertain terms exactly this-no preseason for him but, yes, a plan in mind , watch this space !

Re: Darwin Football Association Part 2

Is it true shayne "softy" smith is coaching natone 2's

Nah mate SHANE Smith is not coaching the two's. They are hoping to pick up a good senior player to do the role and I believe they are still wanting to talk to Jarrod Skidmore and offer him the position cause he know's a bloke who plays up there and believe he would fit in well. They are even looking to see if they can purchase his home brew off him too sweetin the deal:thumbsu::thumbsu:

This is absolute hogwash and everyone who is anybody knows he would only move on to utilise his level 2 coaching in cricket and footy, thrives on a challenge and a little bit of cash will be handy, no doubt even if he has to raise it or steal it himself !I do not think his loyalty at Somerset could ever be questioned and the thought of leaving to Coach only happened at the endof the season and the length of time in Somerset appointing Timmy Mac and Tim had originally said no but circumstances changed which augers well for all at Somerset

Re: Darwin Football Association Part 2

its great to see tim on board at roo land. all the hard work lasty and his men have done is bloody great. also johno has done a lot of work .:thumbsu:
Yep, fantastic appointment and handy having him living at Somerset, well done to Last and the crew, from what I have seen they are an excellent committee-really need to stand up on field now, I know for a fact they and Timmy will get a couple of blokes to pull their heads in and worry about getting a kick other than putting their handsout to receive !

Went well as he and Timmy are great mates from Wynyard and when Chalky coached him at the Devils-Mariners.Timmy had heard of his almost over the line at Cuprona and was just touching base.He said the Chalkster was required but if he left to Coach , he couldnt blame him as at a month ago he had said no to the Roos and by the sounds of who Tim had coming they would be ample enough in the forward line if Chalky did go.Timmy said if he left they would have to retire number 50 as it was missing anyway !

Re: Darwin Football Association Part 2

i think one of the stripes is the wrong colour.
What about d cooper from ridgley.can he play?where will he play?
Good player, cut our blokes up first game last year but struggled deep down back in the Granny but good coaching by Duffy, didnt realise he was on the move, surely he would stay at Ridgley what with the cricket connection and everything ?

Can you mate your identity any more obvious? Ridgley will be up there again if they keep Couls and find a suitable number one ruckman, Mark King is only a back up with a bloody good hip and shoulder

Re: Darwin Football Association Part 2

does anybody know of shawn rossiter who is coaching evandale this year, i think he played/coached in the darwin league ?

Chef by trade if I remember, had some time at Wynyard and was something to do with the now in recess Myalla-can go a bit too !

Ado and Ali King can both ruck as well as Adam wAlker and even Aza at a pinch and they only have to provide a contest totheir strong on ball division ie Fish , Couls, Coop, Hayes and Young-not bad !

He is staying put at the saints. Was good coaching by Duffy. Took Ridgleys slowy bench coach 3 quarters to figure it out and move coop to the wing and get him back in the game.

Good news for Somerset with Chalky staying on board. I think he is fantastic for football. Was involved with him in the Darwin game and would of ran through a brick wall after his pre match address. Hope he isnt lost to coaching complety.

Re: Darwin Football Association Part 2

I too heard that. Would of thought Nathan would deserve a bit more than a text after the way he looked after him.
