Ah, well I am hoping to be at both games, I'm starting Uni on June 2nd so I have a lot of study ahead, but hoping that the weekend will be clear for some footy. Taking a look at the Queenstown ressies, I may get a game, I am just a little bit smaller then the guy playing in the mid field for the Crows, but I'd need to get fit of course...and well...plant myself in the forward line, in the forward pocket perhaps.

It could be funny. ;)

Ah, thanks I had wondered where they played, I thought they would have been in the DFA, I might have to see it my mum wants to come to the footy and she can bring the van, then I will have somewhere dry if it decides to rain very hard like it did at times on Saturday.

She hasn't been keen on bringing the van to the footy since Scott Bennetts kicked the ball and cracked her winsheild. This was at Brighton it was one hell of a miskick :D

whoooooo iv been telling yas watch out for natone, well now they have arrived beating sth bur on the weekend has really opened up the premiership race.
I suppose the biggest dissapointment has been my second team cuprona bulldogs who have now sunk to the depths of dispair losing to yeoman, or is that big of a suprise, the bulldog reserves have been getting beat as well so there doesnt appear to be the depth there required.
The other day a mate of mine asked me was the same players at cuprona as last year as they didnt seem to be going as good as last yr, its easy to be critical but five losses down with four of their losses being under 27 pts the bulldogs may be just finding their feet---lets hope so.As for natone we might be looking at a pship yr cmon maggies....

I have been asking myself the same question..

We have only really lost the 2 Ellis boys, Clayden and Paul Dann.. but have replaced those with Woods, Bloom, Baker, DeVries, Grey + Smart.. the only reason I could come up with is the fact that last years we might have been taken lightly and hence over acheived, while this year teams have taken us more serious..

As for the Reserves, we have been without pretty much our whole spine from 2007.. Scotty Green played his first match on the weekend, Stewie Davis has been out or in the ones, Dean Groves hasnt played, Craig Dann hasnt pulled the boots on.. big loses which have left us without much height.. Our only 'tall' contributer would be Justin Johnson, but then he was pulled up the the ones against Yeoman..

yea someone else said to me that they have 8 new players in the ones so maybe thats why they struggling too, too much recruiting not enough gelling, whatever the reason they have been dissapointing, i heard their coach on sea fm talking to doc hancock and he said that they hadnt had many lucky breaks and hadnt been able to feild a full strength side and that when they did they would be off and running. All i can say to that is they had better hurry up and do it then cause the season is only 14 gms long and they are five down lol.
The magpies are up and running and loved beating cuprona the other week as the bulldogs beat natone to the finals last yr and i believe that it was very satsifying when nthey knocked them off, one more thing-does yeoman beating cuprona mean we have another flag chance in the robins lol

Not if they travel to Queenstown in the rain ;)

Looking at the detailed results from the weekend, M. Keygen had a good game, must have been a bad week for him here in Queenstown. Then again the whole Yeoman team had a bad one here in Queenie. I will post the detailed results soon :)

If you have been taken too lightly the year before isn't that an outside perception? If the club believes they had over achieved that is an even bigger concern. Things that should have been dealt with internally i.e. Browne? Teams are always going to take you seriously when you play finals the year before (i think they did?) I would have thought that would be the message coming through, no great surprise. Best of luck to the Dogs though. From what i hear the roos are getting a bit excited? Funny things happen at the end of the year in a 14 game comp when sides hit full strength....

i see what fallout boy is sayn dimsim, cuprona until last yr had won 2 gms in 2 seasons so wouldnt have expected to make the finals last yr hence the club internally thought they had overacheived, surely when browne and devries went there they had a long term plan and wouldnt have expected to go from wspoon to second week of finals with what would have been a small budget, i understand what your sayn dimsim about surely the club wouldnt or shouldnt have a negative veiw of expectations but the facts remain that its widely spread that no one expected cuprona to make the finals last yr and they did(over acheived). I believe that now we are seeing where cuprona really are on the ladder, evidence of this can be seen where their reserves are last on the ladder and getting pumped each week, they cant have much to work with there judging by the names in making the ones each week so maybe their efforts havent been that bad remembering they have lost 5 gms with four of them under 27 points including pushing ridgely to 13 pts. From what i have heard brown and devries was telling them to aim for the top 3 but the culture of the club and commitee has held them back ie not backn them with money or equipment but then again that info is third hand so dont know the reality of it, interestingly dimsim u stated that if the club was giving the msg of overacheivement last yr then they shouldve have dealt with it internallyie:brown-did you mean he shouldve dealt with it or the club shouldve dealt with him lol, i dont mean that as a slur towards him(if he or a any friends of him r reading) simply just interested in knowing what u meant, from what i do know as an outsider at the club he has changed the place immensouly and has tried to make the club more professional but with losing comes finger pointing.

I dont want people to take my comments the wrong way, they are simply just my opinion not that of the club..

I am just trying to come up with a reason why we have failed to perform this season.. I would say without a doubt that we have just as good as, more likely better line up than last year.. but the results obviously dont show that..

As I said, I am not, and can not, speak for the club but I think we may have over-achieved in the seniors last year, while underachieving in the reserves..

good onya falloutboy ur only questioning the facts, as an outsider of the cuprona fc even though i follow them as my second team after natone, they have had a rough start to the year no doubt, speaking from an outsiders veiw point with who u guys had in the ones and twos i agree with u that the seniors over acheived and the ressies underacheived in 07, but lets not get carried away we r 5 gms in and with 9 gms left there will be plenty of twists and turns yet this season and just feel that if the cuprona seniors can get their first win soon beware the rest of the comp beacause to me they do appear to have a better team than last yr-on paper anyway lol.

Whilst reading the advocate today, i noticed that guy grey is still playing. How does he get a kick these days? What is the standard of the backmen in the comp, cos he's still kicking them!!???

He is probably the league leading goal kicker, if not he would be close..

Although I left at Half time, Mark Webster was doing a great job today though..

looking at the paper grey kicked four and yes he is leading the leading goal kicker table, blink blink he doesnt move far from the goal square-just uses his ample body well one on one, can still play and is still an a grade cricketer as well.

Is he now playing coastal cricket again? Has done well to play so many years. Love having a chat with him too. Good value.

lol yea chalky still has plenty to say, he plays cricket for stowport in the bcl. have to mention after our forum latwe last week that cuprona is now zero-six win loss ratio, but 5 of their losses was under 5 gls----incredible when will their luck turn.

I see mat wooldridge played at the weekend. How did he go and would be one of the best recruits in that comp for a while!

I read that in the paper, not sure if he played the weekend just gone though..

It also said he is only playing until August or something then he is going travelling?.. seems a wasted excercise to me..

gee with the guys named in todays paper who wont be available for the nwfa rep side, the dfa teams confidence mustve went through the roof, no holland no febey and also no clarridge means that the dfa has a fighting chance of success. As for the under 23's who knows what to expect the dfa has a couple good under 23's but then so does the nwfa

Does anyone know the squad for the DFA under 23's?.. the seniors were in the paper the other week but not the under 23's..

Yeah Woody played and from all reports took some strong grabs and played well. Although a bit rusty he will only add to the Demons. Beware if they ever get a full side on the park after a slow start.

um kirk hampton isnt even in the rep side and sorry if he was i certainly wouldnt be picking him to win it- no offence, a more likely winner would be nigel coulsen, mat woolridge or brayden field, i think that the nwfa will win by 50 pts tho

Looking at todays paper the two under 23 teams look reasonably even with maybe the nwfa having the edge cause of the leg speed, noticed that both the senior and under 23 dfa coaches are former nwfa players and infact i remember both of them playing in a g final against each other-coulsen at roseberry toorack(yes they were once good) and a very young browne at spreyton in the nineties, small world isnt it that they end up being co coaches against their old comp.

well maybe he should be classy player with a massive bag of tricks would walk in to most or if not all Darwin sides. well who is in this Darwin Rep Side
