I thought from all the pre season gossip that Brad Davis was a cert to line up with the Hawks next season, but Plappy said in yesterday's Advocate that he already signed on to play Statewide.... Thats a bit dissapointing for DFA followers... would have been worth going to see ( Davis and Nick Barnes head to head.)

Worth going to see barnes v davis??????

lol not if you were related to barnesy it wouldnt...

your an idiot turales innes and matthews all av more ticka stop tryin to suck to ya old idols

Woody has ticker bro dont worry about that one of the most courageous players i have ever played with or seen. He has won 3 or 4 flags at Burnie a Wilf Barker medal in a dominating courageous display in the 02 flag.
Backing back into pack with no respect for what could happen to your body is ticker.
Snipping, fighting just cause someone says something mean to you, king hitting or even just fighting cause your angry with the world is not courageous!!
The blokes you have mentioned have ticker no doubt about it but shouldnt be compared to woody because they are all totally different players in there own right.
Aza Butler from Ridgley is at about the right age to make the trip down to West Park and have a crack at the big time but that bloke loves the Saints!!

i have got some rumours or silly season talk for you boys

andrew hering 2 play for south burnie in 09.

craig stretton 2 go back and play with burnie next year so south have missed out.

mouse butler had a meeting with weasel browne and super coach david jacobson on friday about playing out the dog house in 09.

clinton thurley 2 stay at wynyard next year so yolla still with out a coach.

shaun guard from motton preston 2 play for yoeman next year would be a handy pick up as he is a good player and can kick a few goals.

I had heard pretty definitely that rat hering to south, Strett also joining but not next year, also heard that Davis will be going there in 2010.

Mouse won't leave the saints, but won't play in his usual possie next year.

Who cares about 2010. Lets keep it to 2009 talk. Where will Mouse be playing next year if it not FF??

Just to change the subject, the current 14 game roster in the DFA seems too short to me. I wonder if the Executives are thinking about doing something about it. I know that most of the clubs arent happy with it, and im pretty sure the players wouldnt be either. Maybe they could play 2 full rounds and randomly pick clubs to play another 3 or 4 games against each other. This starting the first round in bloody May is b/s. What do u guys think?

most of the players i know like the 14 game roster but the darwin have to strech out the season starting earlier and have another split round and some more weekends off maybe when hawthorn play in tassie

The trouble also with only 14 games is that it means only 7 home games, which some clubs have trouble making enough revenue

I dont think from talking to the players 14 games is so bad as most cross over from cricket but yes it is hard on some from a money raising point of view but lets face it, most social functions are attende by the players and you cannot keep bleeding the same blokes allthe time and thry may have other interests and family, hence the reason they are in the DFA anyway.Leave as 14, keep combined game and split round but at least check with the players at the "coalface" and not have committee members with their own agendas making such changes if any- good even comp at the moment and will get stronger next year player wise i reckon

I thought this forum business would have shut down over summer! Heard a wisper today that damien harrisson is looking to sign with somerset? any truth?? would be good for them, hard to talk to though!

They are trying to go to an 18 game roster next year. i've seen the proposed roster and from all reports most of the teams are for it. So i'm picking that it will be passed at the next Darwin meeting:thumbsu:
