Mmm, and what significant event took place two years ago?

Buttifant was the best in the business - unfortunately, some people at the club thought they knew more than him.

That has been debunked many times on here and in interviews paper/tv, Buckley gave Buttifant close enough to free reign in regards to training loads etc.

I think it is time he moved on was a great servant and wish him all the best in the future.

+1

Hopefully we can find someone great to fill his position.

We'll find somebody who will be exactly what Buckley is after. I am grateful for everything that Buttifant did for our great club but he was more designed for Malthouse's way of coaching, not Buckley's. Some fresh ideas will do the world of good.

Hi guys, I am a Carlton support and would like to ask a respectful and unloaded question to the Collingwood faithful:

It seems alot of Collingwood Bigfooty fans think that Buttifant is overrated. Could you please elaborate on why this may be the case?

Been a poor side in the last quarters of games for 3 years.

He knows his stuff but I think he has fallen behind the last few years, hell even in 2011 we blew teams up in 3 quarters and struggled in the last.

He isn't and everyone saying that has no idea unless they have worked with him at some point and have a sports science degree. You can only go on what people he works with say, and that's nothing but fantastic.

He did a fantastic job at Collingwood. However after 13 years maybe he needs a change & Bucks probably wants his own team. Expect a couple of assistant coaches to also be replaced. Bucks has ran with Micks old team for 2 years now, time for some changes.
If Buffiant does go to Carlton, he is a good get.

nb tks for giving us pick 10 in the draft....you can have pick 12

Time to get a big fish from outside the AFL system, lets look at an EPL fitness coach something outside the square.

We have the money and facilities, lets throw some money at an elite fitness team and have the right people to match. Obviously the team weve had the past couple of years hasn't worked.

Some big changes to come at the pies, looking forward to seeing what comes of it. I'm sure Buckley wont stand for the result and will make some big decisions over the off season.

So you want MM back? You quickly forget 2011?

Where did I say that? And what about 2011?

That has been debunked many times on here and in interviews paper/tv, Buckley gave Buttifant close enough to free reign in regards to training loads etc.

Who has debunked it?

And of course Buckley would say he gave Buttifant free reign. Covers up for the fact that Buckley has had far, far more input into training loads and conditioning than he wants the public to know. Far more. Far, far more.

Do you understand yet? Or am I still being too obtuse?

Funniest thing ever. Yep, we really struggled to lose only two games during the Home and Away season, and have ten games with a winnning margin over 50 points, with another couple just below that.

You blokes will make anything up to keep the myth alive. Give it a rest.

Buttifant is first and foremost a scientist. And science is a continual voyage of discovery.

You can also go off on field results and since the start of 2011 we have fell away badly in last quarters... tells me we aren't as fit as the other sides...

This is a good move for us, imagine how big the Carlton trade week book tour is going to be with both Butters and Mick on board.

I've heard that they are releasing a sequel soon.

Butters has even stated that he controls it on "the club" and that in conjuction with Nathan they set the program.

You havent said you want him back but your posts clearly show a very strong dislike for Buckley. I'd like to know how you know how much input Buckley has over training loads and we should dismiss what Bucks and Butters say about who in fact controls the schedules.
Youre a Buckley hater, we get it. Time for you to give it a rest

He only appears after a loss ;)

They showed some vision of the recovery on 'The Club' and it looked, at least from outside, that Butters ran his own show. So, not sure how anyone can say that Buckley is running the fitness dept, unless they have inside knowledge.

Starting to wonder if he is an ex disgruntled player? Shae MAc perhaps was sour on Twitter straight after our loss saying "you made your bed now sleep". Which appears very pointed at the coaching change.

Did you read my post numb nuts go back and have a look quarter by quarter in 11, we smashed teams in 3 quarters and most the time fell off in the last quarter but our leads were huge so it didn't matter.

It's called management. Absolutely no point continuing to flog yourself when the game is won - that's when injuries happen.

Maybe you forgot about the Crows game? Kind of debunks your theory, doesn't it? 11 goals in the last quarter?

Butters has even stated that he controls it on "the club" and that in conjuction with Nathan they set the program.

The Club. Wow, there's an impartial source of information for you. :D :D

Give it a rest. You are way out of your depth discussing something you have no idea about.

And why would he need to do it in conjunction with Buckley?

Do I have to make it clearer for you?

Why have Collingwood lost the fitness edge the last two years?

Yeah, I didn't read your post so I don't really care.

2.5 years of being cruelled by soft tissue injuries is enough thanks.

Plus, if he wants to hang out with his mate at Carlton then he can **** right off...his love for Mick is obviously greater than the Pies so his heart definitely has not been in it.

Gee I don't know... to fit in with the game plan maybe?
