I think meat pies are gross. Even more after the addition of tomato sauce.

Please don't tell Peter Dutton as I don't want to get deported.

I love Pies although Balfours and Four N Twenty (both have been Port sponsors) are probably the worst going around. Villis make a great mass produced pie and good bakery pies are bloody awesome.

Well that's a bit different

Port Adelaide chairman David Koch says he asked the AFL to put the team in different accommodation to the Adelaide Crows while both teams stay in Queensland for the rebooted AFL season because the players “don’t like each other”.

“We have enormous respect for the team, for the Crows, absolutely enormous respect, but just don’t like you. We’re so different. Why should we have to spend eight weeks in the same hotel? So we’ve requested to the AFL – why don’t you put us with one of the Western Australian teams…

“We’re so different. We eat Balfour’s meat pies and you eat quiche… and you guys drink chardonnay. Great respect, but nup. You’re not our type of people…”

Spell it out as it is David .. Build them up, and then hit them with .... but we just don't like you... :thumbsu: :) Take that .. :straining:

This f**knuckle is an embarrassment to our club every time he opens his mouth.

Lol he reckons he is winning port supporters by saying this shit, he isn't saying it for any other reason. So transparent.

Apparently Tex has been leaving Kornes abusive messages on his phone.. does that surprise you? is he really that precious?

And then goes on the radio and says it’s getting beyond a joke, or words to that effect,

Shouldn't be in the same hotel.

Unless there's a Ramsgate incident, knowing the teams are interacting pleasantly isn't doing the reputation of the rivalry that the fans hold so dear any favours. Kochie ain't entirely wrong here.

It's the best one in the AFL and we shouldn't be trying to dilute it.

Several of these guys own businesses together.

So, what? Do you like the Crows players do you?
As others have said above, Koch just says this shit in an attempt to appear tough, while the battles he should be fighting go unfought. His comments that we don't want to be in the same hotel as the Crows because we don't like them are petulant and embarrassing. He could have easily arranged for a different hotel, without the need for comment.

Sh!t, people really become blinkered by their prejudices.

You either are happy for him to say it, or you think he shouldn’t have. I am happy he said it, even if it was tongue in cheek. Take every opportunity to promote the rivalry.

Those who are happy that it was said but still criticise his motivations for saying it, are impossible to please.

Appear tough? It was suit and tie banter.

Tex: Muuuuuummm, Port touched my side of the hotel

Mclaughlin: If I catch you two fighting again I'll turn this season around and you can both go home!!
Should let Kane Cornes do his show from the resort. Should be weeks of fun.

How can Koch say 'We don't like them' with a straight face? As soon as I heard him say that I remembered him sucking up to Chapman in the Phil Walsh Showdown. He's got a long way to go if he's trying to win back the support of the diehards.
He learnt the ****in hard way. We were too nice that night and lost our way.
