I'm imagining for one second if we actually did secure Clarko, how quickly any supporters defending Ken would forget about him.

I'm imagining him cutting DBJ for being rubbish and the happy clappers being up in arms because he's one of Ken's gold pass boys.

I sent this to the club on the 28th of July.

To Koch, Customer relations, CEO, Corporate, membership and the generic email.

I thought it was positively mild compared to what I could have said, yet I didn't even get a reply 2 weeks later.

Walking the walk and talking the talk

To the custodians of my club,

As a supporter and member of the Port Adelaide Football Club for 42 years I have never been more disenfranchised from my club (including 2011 and 2012).

I have never before questioned whether to attend games or whether to renew my membership... until now.

I am becoming increasingly frustrated by the degree to which our words and actions do not match our stated ambitions.

We state we exist to win premierships yet then we make excuse after excuse as to why it is hard and crumble on field when it becomes so.

We say we want to win 3 premierships in 5 years and then we say things like "finals are just a sugar hit" or suggest that making finals alone is good enough or that it's all OK, we are "connected" or "we had a good 3rd quarter". And on the field we too often fail when expectations rise.

We say We Are Port Adelaide and yet we constantly talk and behave in a way that the real Port Adelaide never would. I don't expect us to win as much as we did in the SANFL, no one does, this is a furphy. I do expect us to be amongst the competition leaders on and off field over the mid to long term. I do expect us to Expect To Win and have a confidence bordering on arrogance to make it so. At the moment we are miles off of the likes of Hawthorn, Richmond, Geelong and even Melbourne in terms of ultimate success over a 15 year time frame.

We say we want to #bringbackthebars and yet we don't have the fortitude to wear them or publicly comment about wearing them on a consistent basis. Every time another team rolls out another "retro round" jumper it is a dagger into the heart of every true Port fan and a reminder of what we are now vs. what we once were.

I still support my club (I pay for 5 memberships this year) because I believe in the club and what it stands for.

I hope that you as the current custodians (coach and president in particular) can remember what it stands for and either step up to the plate, or step aside, so that it can return where it rightly belongs. As the most successful club in the land.

Yeh, they would have read this line and deleted your email.

Great work yet again ET

I also sent some polite, subtle emails in June and only got a reply to say along the lines of 'stop picking on us you big meany'

I included my full name and contact number with all emails, plus the all the member 'satisfaction' surveys completed over the years, where I always asked for someone from the club to contact me to no avail

I know I've hammered the point repeatedly, but I firmly believe loss of memberships is about the only thing they may even see as a negative.

So spread the word one and all, lets send these condescending invertebrates a message they MIGHT understand

When I cancelled my membership 3 or 4 years ago I actually got a follow up phone call asking me why.
I politely told the youngish sounding bloke that I didn't want a bar of Koch and kern, and wouldn't be renewing until they were both gone.
There was no real reaction from him (understandably) but I may have detected a slight sigh, which could suggest he had heard similar comments from disgruntled members before.

It's fine for Koch to talk tough on radio. But it'll mean nothing if no action is taken on Ken: fans want change, and we want it now!!!
I'm calling bs on Koch this club destroying bast#rd should not be able to stick his nose in any of the mess he has created.
He talks like it is everyone else who is responsible for the complete demise of this club while all the time being behind the wheel.
In the 60 years that I have supported the Pafc I have never seen the absolute disdain for two club people like Koch and hinkley they need to be passed off asap.

Their lack of response sums up the modern Port Adelaide. If management doesn't like what you say, it quickly gets dismissed and forgotten about. I'm still waiting for the promised call back to discuss my answers from the mid year members survey - I suspect that Ken will become a premiership coach before my phone rings.

Koch angry!

Bruce Banner Hulk GIF by Harborne Web Design Ltd

I expect this will end up meaning there'll be some movement of assistants, minor ins and outs and deckchair shuffling, which Koch will spin as being tough and courageous in the face of outside noise. Something like "we've looked at the number of close games we lost and good quarters we played and recognized that we're not far off and don't need to make any major changes, a few tweaks and we'll be back with a chance of finals next year."

You forgot to end your email with SACK HINKLEY.

After Hinkley goes, I'm moving onto the Sack Koch train.

0 Premierships and even 0 Grand Finals,
Didn't sack Hinkley 5-7 years ago,
Failed us on the Prison Bars issue (Only worn 3 times in 10 years),
Debt hasn't improved,
Called out by the media for having no balls to make big calls.

Hey David. You wanted Ken to be a ten year coach for stability which you said is a trait of successful organisations. Ken has become a ten year coach but unfortunately the success you strongly believed would come, didn’t. The honourable but more importantly the absolute right thing to do by the club is for both you and Ken to resign at season’s end.

The way this seems to be going we may have to rename this thread 'The Tealarisation of Port Adelaide

SACK KOCH

SACK HINKLEY

I sent a polite email to davidkoch@pafc.com.au last night. Doubt I will receive a response and I won't even know whether it gets read.

Koch has been disappointing in recent years. A lot of talk about how the club is chasing greatness and on track for success on and off the field. Remember the commitment to win 3 premierships in 5 years:think: Meanwhile in the media we're still referred to as a recipient club by the likes of Caroline Wilson and the club is still asking for donations with their Chasing Greatness fund to tackle the multimillion dollar debt. Why do the fans have to keep putting their hands in their pockets!? If the club can't run without handouts from the fans then their business plans are flawed.
