unless there's some situation coming up that is a spoiler where you have to use them.
Yeah there is a use for them.

found one of the secret recordings
Is this a memory chip or is it a different kind of collectible i haven't come across.
I play offline so always carry a ladder/climbing anchors but could imagine doing that even with the ladder half extended on my backpack.

Yeah the memory chip.

Playing offline would be an amazing chore, I struggle at times with being online, nothing more glorious than adding an area to a network and revealing all the goodies.

I don't understand why you're provided with lethal weapons and then told not to use them because, you know, void outs n stuff.. unless there's some situation coming up that is a spoiler where you have to use them.

Probably the most annoying thing for me is the repetition of messages. I get mama or whoever telling me to check for new orders and then skull face dude always has to chime in too 'Sam, I just heard someone saying you should check for new orders. You should do like they said and check for new orders'. Next second the cufflink goes off. It's skull face again. 'Oh and Sam don't forget to check for new orders like I just told you literally seconds ago'. Stfu mate and take that ridiculous mask off.
The reason he wears a mask is to hide his identity. It's really Preston from Fallout 4.

I started online, first few hours, then tried for a few more hours about 30 hrs in. There is a lot i like about being connected and i was torn early on about whether to play online or off as i felt like i was missing out on experiences either way. I will no doubt play online at some stage after i have finished the game.
But it is the part of your post that i quoted that is the main reason i prefer offline at this stage. After reaching the destination and connecting them to the network i would turn around to walk outside and there would already be bridges, generators and post boxes built before i have even had a chance to build anything myself. There would already be paths worn into the ground leading to other preppers or city's.
After the initial trek to a remote area it just felt like i was following someone else around who was playing the game. I want to explore and find the best, but most of the time the worst, route to take when making deliveries and using the tools we are given to make future trips easier .
I wish there were some more settings for how much of the online we can incorporate into our game, like the what signs are displayed option. While i don't want players objects in the game i would like to help and receive help in building roads, leaving items in post boxes ect. .
Edit: I wish i could have players from my friends list added as players in bridges links, it would be great to see stuff my brother has placed show up in my game. Has anybody seen anything from a player on friends list show up in there game.

Lol. How I feel even after following this thread! I'm still pretty keen to check this out after my current bunch of games.

The comments are gold though. 100% accurate of the arguments I see on Twitter and FB.

PS: more poo and wee stories pls

The erudite sophisticate undermines himself by drinking Yellow Tail.

Curious - does this resemble anything like MGS?

It was an absolute travesty how Konami treated Kojima and pushed out MGS V blatently unfinished, half baked. Such a fantastic game otherwise.

The gameplay/combat is MGS.

So when a player drops a ladder on the ground. Is that just there for the next person that happens to come along? Is it always there?
It comes online once you connect the area to the network by passing through once and turn on the next hub. Although I think you only have a certain % of stuff in your game, not the whole worlds. They also degrade over time and disappear.

I traveled along a new built rode and was lovely, I then got to the point where I can build roads (add metals etc) and was told to try it out, the closest was right next to a centre so I did it and built the road and now I'm getting heaps of likes.

It is, I got lucky and got a prime spot. So shut the fu** up you dumb campaigner.
I was genuinely wow'd by your story. I don't know why you spit these words of hurt at me.

i'm part way through chapter 4... i put it down and have next to no desire to pick it back up. those who have finished, does it ever go anywhere? i was super intrigued at the start but the sense of wonder wore off pretty quick.

Are you sure you’re at chapter 4?

Can you explain what is happening because I don’t quite believe you. If you weren’t blown away by chapter 4 then maybe this game isn’t for you.
