Does the poo and wee stuff stop by chapter 4?
I cant believe how slow i am going with with this... im still on episode 3
I started online, first few hours, then tried for a few more hours about 30 hrs in. There is a lot i like about being connected and i was torn early on about whether to play online or off as i felt like i was missing out on experiences either way. I will no doubt play online at some stage after i have finished the game.
But it is the part of your post that i quoted that is the main reason i prefer offline at this stage. After reaching the destination and connecting them to the network i would turn around to walk outside and there would already be bridges, generators and post boxes built before i have even had a chance to build anything myself. There would already be paths worn into the ground leading to other preppers or city's.
After the initial trek to a remote area it just felt like i was following someone else around who was playing the game. I want to explore and find the best, but most of the time the worst, route to take when making deliveries and using the tools we are given to make future trips easier .
I wish there were some more settings for how much of the online we can incorporate into our game, like the what signs are displayed option. While i don't want players objects in the game i would like to help and receive help in building roads, leaving items in post boxes ect. .
Edit: I wish i could have players from my friends list added as players in bridges links, it would be great to see stuff my brother has placed show up in my game. Has anybody seen anything from a player on friends list show up in there game.
Me either but I always seem to end up doing it. Certainly can find yourself in some 'spots'. Like how the **** did I end up here?I just don't have the gaming time to spend taking 2 hours meticulously picking my way up a mountain for a single delivery.
I just finished chapter 11 and I'm exhausted. Ended up going about an hour longer than I meant to just to get to a good spot to save.
I plan to do that afterwards assuming, you know, the world survives.Chapter 11? I'm way off. I've got to stop collecting crystals and delivery pointless packages.
Sooo.. private locker is mostly useless yeah? As in each terminal has their own private locker and stuff you put in there is only available from that one locker, not all of them
I appreciate they were probably going for an uncluttered UI to focus on the beauty of the landscape, but geez this game needs some on-screen navigational aids, or at least an option to show them. I'm constantly in and out of the map to make sure I'm heading in the right direction, irritating. Even an on-screen compass would do.
R1 to scan when you mark a path?
Will only show you where you (and others) have already walked yeah? More talking about trying to stay vaguely on course when trying to get to a new destination.
Think you can 'plot' a route in the map screen which will show up in-world but it's just a straight line from point A to point B, over a mountain, through a river etc.
Wow, 121 hours. That is some solid delivering and time commitment. I need to get back on the Horse, stopped nearly at the end of Chapter 3 and haven't had any gaming time since late November.Finished it last night at about 121hrs, overall i absolutely loved it. Often open world games can take me months to finish, if at all but i don't think a game has gotten it's hooks into me as much as DS has. Most nights a few more minutes would turn into a few more hours.
A few quick thoughts in regards to the ending, i guess it could be split into two parts, the first part i thought was a bit so-so, both in the way it was presented and the outcome. I definitely want to go and read people's opinions and theories on this now that i have finished it.
The second part was fantastic imo and while it will annoy people who don't like watching cutscenes i loved every second of of the last hour or more of it. very satisfying ending for me overall.
I also don't think i have played a more complete, solidly built game. I don't recall a single crash, menu lockup or somthing not doing what it is meant to, mind i have been living in a cocoon in regards to this game so other players maybe having a myriad of issues i am yet to read about.
Yes.We talking one long one or a lot of em in general?
I'm only at 53 hours but I was pretty focused on completing the main story. Didn't want to risk losing interest. Now I'm free to be a delivery man until I do.Wow, 121 hours. That is some solid delivering and time commitment. I need to get back on the Horse, stopped nearly at the end of Chapter 3 and haven't had any gaming time since late November.
Also, just further to this, it would be a really good idea to provide a warning when you are about to begin this considering the length and the fact you can't save it and come back later once you begin.Just finished.

Yeah there was and that's where I saved the night before (thank ****) because I had a feeling.. but even yesterday afternoon it just went on for so long it ended up being way longer than I could really afford to be there and as a result I probably didn't enjoy it as much as I would if I'd been warned to set aside x amount of time for the next bit as there were no more save opportunities.not sure if there was a save opportunity just after that or not
Not that I have any knowledge in this area - but I kinda wanna know a bit more about whats going on under the hood of this game.
For example - the paths that start emerging in the landscape after a while aren't actually determined by real player traffic are they? They'd be pre-programmed and set to update on the map after you do certain deliveries?
