Why would you doubt the NYPD?

Not doubting the NYPD (or the SDNY who will be prosecuting this)

It’s just that so far their actions (putting DeGoey & co in the lockup overnight and having them arraigned in front of a judge) will have been based purely on victim statements and maybe witness statements.

The process of getting to the bottom of what happened, requesting CCTV footage, reviewing it, cataloging it, taking other witness statements, taking statements of the venue staff …

… fair chance NYPD / SDNY resources would be stretched at the best of times …

… let alone during Halloween, and during a police union dispute over Covid vaccine mandates. Unlikely to be very high on their priority list. And it’ll take at least until December 8th before the club finds out anything more via that route.

Whereas the club could just pay a Private Investigator for 3 or 4 days (?) of intense work ($10K ish?) and get to the bottom of it in quick time.

A summary of De Goey's indiscretions:
2017 - Broke his hand in a pub brawl. Lied to the club saying his dog did it.
2018 - Arrested and charged for drink driving. Suspended by the club.
2020 - Arrested for driving while suspended.
2020 - Arrested for indecent assault relating to an incident in 2015. Charges eventually dropped.
2021 - Arrested and charged for forcible touching and assault. Stood down by club.

And been given previous reprimand by the club for turning up to preseason training unfit.

This guy is a loser and should be delisted regardless of the outcome of his court case.

We’re likely to win less games in ‘22 without DeGoey, but I don’t see he’s a liability. Next years contract is already accounted for, but it’s his last year of his current term. Either he returns to the club with significantly less bargaining power on his next deal or he’s sacked.

Honestly it's not really your business, people around here are desperate for a source it doesn't work like that.

I was responding to someone saying he has an alcohol problem.

I have a good mate who is good mates with him especially the past 12 months.

He has had fu** all piss the past 6 months, he has spent most of his time training, riding bikes and building a new house.

The last real drink he had was when he was suspended and got approval by Robert Harvey and the club to go up for the Gallen fight in Sydney, Eddie got him tickets.

I'm not defending what's happened, the guy he is with is an absolute tool and you could argue Jordan is aswell but I'm not going listen to someone say he has an alcohol problem when he has hardly had a drop the past 6 months.

He clearly makes really bad decisions when alcohol is involved which isn't something new with alot of people.

I have told the board a few things about Jordy the past 12 months, I did the same about Beams.

I don't defend these blokes, I just state facts.
