Dunno why nathan ablett's name is on the list; he won't be in either draft. I'm sure there's a few others in the list that won't be in either draft as well. Maybe shoulda called the list 'the delisted players who are eligible to nominate for the drafts'

What's the story with Jason Davenport? I thought Geelong really rated him.

Rubbish on lists
I can't remember a time when so many players were being delisted by clubs, yet there was so much rubbish and so few that you'd want to get on your list.
The Saints delisted 10 today and couldn't believe there wasn't anything that might be worth having a sniff at.
Has any club delisted anyone that you think might be picked up?

There are always delisted players picked up by another club.
Danny Meyer and Jason Davenport I think will both be picked up.
Ryan Jackson from Carlton was a bit unlucky to be delisted and some clubs may be interested in him. Wouldn't surprise me all that much if Clinton Benjamin found his way onto a rookie list somewhere.
Matthew Moody may attract interest from Freo and/or WCE.
Jericho continues to be mentioned as a potential pick-up but I'm not convinced.
There are always delisted players picked up by another club.

Put it this way. If clubs had a choice of Jackson and Bryan, I can tell you who would be preferred by most, if not all clubs. I'll give you a hint - it's not Bryan.
Jackson is a decent player that just couldn't find a spot in our midfield. It wouldn't surprise me if he was picked up somewhere.

If there wasn't so much hype about GC17 and next year's draft Birss and Attard would probably get a chance to go round again. There are also so interesting players up from other teams, but I don't think many teams will be picking from the PSD this year.

Carlton have not done themselves favours by drafting "project" types without having the resources to develop these guys.
M Lappin & D Teague playing VFL & being "development" coaches and is hardly worlds best practice, imo.

haha not quite. my bad, not quite a star either. i meant better than your average footballer.
surely fremantle will pick him up, they seem to pick up every other delisted late 20year old, who are way past their prime.

Saints have now axed Fiora too. Looks more and more likely that they will get cousins IMO.

Chris Johnson has been delisted by Melbourne after failing to agree over his new contract, and will go into the PSD where he hopes to join (who else but) Carlton.
