Not sure, reliable source can't name for personal reasons assures me he is training with Hawthorn. He has had bad luck being a rookie when the swans are so strong

Would definetly rather an extra kid in the PSD or late in the ND, but I guess if we paid him the minimum, got his kicking corrected then he may come in handy playing on the 3rd or 4th best defender....................Still rather a youngster though. Pardon my ignorance but this seems strange that a TAC player can train with a club prior to the National Draft.
Been done before?
Guessing AFL permission would be required.

Edit - the Lions received special permission as he was not invited to either draft camps

a little not heaps... pretty stiff not to play league(may have palyed a couple of games not 100%) this year... some very very good performances in the reserves.... has been working hard in the off season... bit of a late developer in the porplyzia sort of way in that his fitness may not have been there in the past... stepped up a lot this year... wouldnt be surprised to see him as a rookie somewhere

It seems a mystery to me why Geelong would let one of their best forwards go. I know people bag him but there's a lot worse forwards still getting a run. It's almost like they were badgered into dropping him by they're supporters. A little short sighted IMO. If he goes to Richmond he'll do alright.

Probably looking more to the future I reckon. In the reserves there's youngsters Nathan Ablett (CHF/FF), Gamble (HHF), Grima (was drafted as a FF), Lonergan (if he decides to continues playing) and Hawkins coming, plus we still have Playfair and Gardiner (and just delisted Matt McCarthy). Some of them don't play FF and some do play both forward and back in the VFL, but I think the forward line is looking good for the future. Plus Kent can't take an over head mark, wont jump more than 10cm (if at all), and wont put his body on the line.

I know where you're coming from though, I'm not normally a Kent bagger, and he definitely served Geelong very well during his time there, except this year. He was perhaps played out of position at Geelong, but then we had no one else for FF. As a leading HHF or 2nd/3rd tall he could still be very good for the right team. It's just that this year, with the young forwards now, he was maybe taking up a spot where we could have a youngster doing nothing, rather than Kent do nothing - at least the youngster would be learning something
