Yeah, Freo aren't a threat to anyone. It's also why the AFL gave them an extra home game last year when the idea came from us and Brisbane.

Don’t see how that’s any better for Geelong. The two guys you get at 20-22 will be similar quality to the guy you get with a single 14. Two shots at it. Plus we’ve apparently thrown in 2019 second. Geelong are being arses because of Kelly’s manager by the looks.
Maybe we could facilitate the Shiel trade to get Geelong that top 10 pick?

Cats probably get less in that scenario than only 20+22 from the Eagles.

Will be a better version of Kelly in 6 years. Can’t really lose here. Could potentially be better just taking him and someone like Valente instead of selling the farm for Kelly. We have enough to challenge for next year. Load up for the next generation.

Is there any rule preventing Kelly from agreeing to only 1 year deal at Fremantle?
Would be close yeh. Assuming that Ess pick next year is mid 30's, it would still value Kelly at #6-7, but given the premium of pick upgrades at the top end this year, that 3 pick upgrade would theoretically be worth more than just 200 pts.

We'll get some decent talent with 20 and 22 make no bones about it. Don't sell this year and next year for one player.
