Reckon it's time to give Goodesy the chop. His best is in the past. We can't afford to hang on to 30+ year old players who won't be part of our next premiership window. He's keeping young stars like Max Otten from getting a crack.

What's the deal with Sumner? Why isn't he getting a game? Injuries?

He is on indefinite leave back to South Australia because of homesickness

I think Jesse White has to go - they have tried him for a long time with little success. Jarryd Moore is too slow

There area few that need to pick up next year otherwise they may face the chop including:
Lewis Jetta, Nick Maleski, Everitt, Trent Dennis Lane

Swans should try and trade Seaby - a number of clubs would be interested in him and it seems unfair to kepp such a good quality ruckman in the reserves.

I don't know about Paul Bevan -I think he's a very good player but that is obviously not shared.

And we should try and get Chris Dawes - hasn't signed with the Magpies yet

I'm not sure about who we should be delisting but Moore, Seaby, Bevan and Sumner should be put up for trade and be given the opportunity to go elsewehere. If Seaby goes Currie should stay, but he might also want to be traded. White stays. You don't delist players of his youth, build and potential. Big blokes take a long time to come good and he came into the game with virtual nothing behind him.

AT A GLANCE: An athletic key position utility player and one-time junior basketball star who was a second-chance draftee to the Sydney Swans in 2006 after he was narrowly overlooked by the same club 12 months earlier. The son of a former VFA footballer and women’s national league basketballer, he was born in Melbourne but moved to Queensland with his family aged two. He lived and played football on the Gold Coast until 2004, when the family moved to Brisbane for him to finish his schooling at John Paul College. Even then, though, he retained his connection to Southport, where he had graduated through the ranks to play senior football in 2005-06 before missing the finals both years due to injury.

So lets debunk the myth. He has played footy for most of his life. He has been at the Swans for 5 years now, surely more than enough time to become a regular contributor.

Mattner unless if he can be traded

Currie/Seaby depending on who can be traded/not traded

wont be more than 2 delistings as we need at least 3 picks including tom mitchell and 1 rookie (tony armstrong)

could also be jesse white's last year in 2012 unless he stands up

Everybody gets given the chance to be traded before any official delistings occur

out:

Seaby, two back up ruckman aged 28 next year, pointless. the fact Pyle was named an emergency ahead of Seaby indicates where Seaby is in the pecking order. Seaby had a few games as the number one ruckman this year and bar one was a little disappointing.

Sumner: The coaches strongly indicated last year they were disappointed with the young mans attitude towards the work required to play AFL football despite his natural aptitude. year 2 and two possible stories emerge, he is homesick and cant stay and takes a leave of absence. What would appear to be his second such in two years. Or if Uncle Ray were to be believed sent home by the club.... which in fact sounds even worse.

Paul Bevan: The boys had more chances to flourish than the Ethiopian wheat crop and delivered less. His decision making is poor and slow witted. In the age of the forward press this results in far to many hurtful turnovers. Some times he looks like he is going to contribute up forward but the effect is never sustained.

*McKaigue (rookie): It is doubtful a third year rookie spot will be available for him and those who I trust just seem to believe his development is to slow and if he's still battling to beat maker a ripple in Canberra the AFL is going to be a step to far. Perhaps re drafting to the rookie list if he's still available.

There are others I have concerns about. Meredith, Moore topping the list and Currie.

The only reason Currie gets one more year is the fact the specialist ruck division he is the only one still under 25. we need to put another one into development though so it needs to be a draft consideration.

That makes six places available on our list. In what is reputed to be a poor draft. That is more than enough. it's the end of the 2012 season that a bis shake out will really occur.

22. 23 in February next year. He made good strides in the 2's this year apparently so maybe if Seaby is sent somewhere, Currie will get one more chance.

Seaby is the 2nd choice 1st ruckman but Pyke is the 2nd choice 2nd ruckman (if you follow).

But given Mummy's dominance and importance to the side, Seaby just isn't going to get a look in from here on. Pyke has more value as the 2nd ruckman/forward option and is my first choice for that role next year (ahead of White).

Seaby should try and get himself to Port. That's his best bet for a first ruck spot in my mind. Most other clubs already have a definite number one ruck but I definitely think Seaby still has value in that role somewhere. Just not with us.

IS in the plans? Poor kid, he would have heard that a bit. I hope he can find a spot in Sydney.

I think Horse likes him, Roo's never did.

Last yr wasnt much opportunity with SUB rule with Mumford Pyke and White as back up so you cant fit him in really. He should be given an opportunity especially after nearly 6 yrs.

Currie did have a great year in the 2's. Won the comp B&F. With Seaby gone supposedly, he'll surely get more of a look in competing with Pyke and White for the forward/2nd ruck role.

How have you come across this info, LA?

Play with his brother Paul before and played with him in 18's. Lives about 1km from me in Melb when he isnt in Sydney. Crusher Currie. Slays em.

I'd like to keep Currie. Whether he wants to stay or not is another matter, and I wouldn't blame him for leaving if he can find opportunities some place else. But if Seaby is leaving, I'm not comfortable with only having two rucks on the list. We've been really quite lucky over the last 5-6 years with the health of our rucks so it hasn't been an issue. But Pyke has injury problems and if Mummy goes down we'd be stuffed.

Don't buy in to stupid, uninformed public opinion on Seaby being a spud. Most who say he is have simply never bothered to watch him play.

He is an above average AFL ruckman. I'm not even saying this to try and convince myself that we will get a good deal for him. I know we probably won't but I really hope he gets to another club who needs a strong number one ruckman, because it is a role he can definitely play to a good standard. His time in Sydney filling in for Mumford (or even as number one over Mummy last year) he has shown he is a very capable AFL ruckman.
