Stringer’s dominance at centre bounces also needs to mentioned.
It certainly does. Not in this thread though, nothing delusional about 29 disposals, 3 goals and 10 i50s against the Hawkes!

Cripps' form last year was better than Merrett, Parish, Stringer and Ridley apparently
I think this is about right but I'd still take Ridley before Weitering. Including Kelly this year should make Ridley's strengths clearer. Not sure I see it that way. Stringer’s back half of the season was massive. If he gets that going for a full year he’d be pushing top 5 in the comp.
Also think backman are overrated in terms of their impact on winning. Based on 2021 I’d go 1. McKay equal 2nd. Merrett and Walsh 4. Parish 5. Stringer 6. Weitering 7. Ridley
Obviously everyone sees the game differently though.
Nah. Merrett and Walsh are about even.Probably not. All three are definitely better than Ridley and Stringer at this point and you could make an argument about them against Parish/Merrett.
Walsh is better than ZerrettNah. Merrett and Walsh are about even.
Ridley has the capacity.
Stringer can be better than Cripps if he rolls on this year. None of them are definitely better.
Is notWalsh is better than Zerrett
He will be if he isn't already.Walsh is better than Zerrett
Better moustache maybe
Lock the thread, 2022 has found a winner
People really underrate how good Parish was before he broke out. Averaging 20 touches from a HFF with plenty of big games when given an opportunity in the middle is not comparable to the Carlton players who’ve continually played sub standard AFL footy.
I've replied to their idiocy before comparing Dow to Parish. Parish from memory averaged better stats across a season, every season from his very first than Dow has ever managed.
If their argument is Dow might improve as he's older now, then sure, but I don't see how it's especially analogous to Parish who was always AFL standard.
Carlton are cooked and if some of these slow burn players like McGovern, Setterfield and Dow come good. They’ve spent so much on the likes of Saad, Williams, Martin, Cerra they would really struggle to fit them into the cap I reckon.Yeah Carlton fans are much better comparing their poorly developing players to actual slow developers like Langford who has been a real slow burn but is now a very good player.

NOW you've done it
3-peat incoming.NOW you've done it
FTFY
I ban myself sometimes if I think it's too hot. I need to calm my farm.I'd be happy to be banned after a loss.
Sour grapes"lol @ the Bombers fans in here. He hasn't chosen Essendon. It was just his last hope, the last club with a spot willing to consider him and they realistically did that only on the back of his last name. If Port was interested then we would've drafted him. We made it clear a while back he wasn't in our calculations.
Luckily for him he has shown enough to get a rookie contract. Essendon's depth is obviously a lot worse than ours as he wouldn't fit on our list.
I think we all wish him the best and hope he has a great career, but he has a long way to go before the other 17 clubs regret not selecting him."
This was posted on the Port board.
Interesting train of thought really; we only drafted Tex because of his surname, but he has shown enough to get a rookie contract.
Their best small forward is Steven Motlop. Enough said."lol @ the Bombers fans in here. He hasn't chosen Essendon.
