Being carted off due to a hamstring injury is an interesting one. Hopefully it was more precautionary and it's your standard 3-4 week hamstring.

They seem to push plays to play through hammys over there a bit more rather than ultra conservative here so maybe he'll be back reasonably soon.

I almost said it in my first post but didn't, but tbh I think Jeudy is a little soft. So when I saw he was carted off and then that it was a hamstring injury I immediately though I bet it isn't that bad, and a moderate hamstring injury would tend to show that. This isn't a new thought based off this, I've always had a question about it - He seems to whinge quickly and it doesn't take much of a knock to keep him out.

I mean being carted off due to standard a 3-4 week hamstring... come on now.

Better than last year .. but still more of the same ultimately.

And missing 4 points would have won us the game. Not good enough really.

We havd some real quality pieces - but we cant lose 2 players a game to injury.

Sterns prob done for the year now too.

Kills me.

Oh.. and sitting in a bar in the SFV in LA full of Raider fans... with other of course... but still....

****ing Radier fans are the worst lol - but hey.. they won.

It's always an interesting option to cut the kicker when you don't actually have a decent option in your back pocket.

I know last yr wasn't Brandons best yr, but I don't think he was over the hill or so bad you cut him. I get it saved a few $, but I'd rather not have the $ right now and have the 4 points. For the amount of influence kickers have cutting them to save a few quid and get a cheap replacement is dumb as f. We aren't the only ones guilty of it loads of teams do it every year.

They should be drafted in the mid rounds more often than they are. You can't tell me drafting Justin Tucker with a 3rd round pick (if not higher) would be a waste. It might not be a fun or sexy pick but they score more points for their teams than anyone else - except the QB - so why would you not invest in them.

Completely agree with you... I'd support any team selecting a quality kicker out of college over a speculative 3rd or 4th string RB / WR who may not even make the roster at cut time.
Such an important position, and truly a player who can win or lose games off their boot.

Very much hoping he just had a bad day. We can't finally sort out the line and have Russ come good, only to have the kicker losing us games.

The onside kick was a big bold statement, but ultimately nuts.

I suppose it's a position you don't really notice when they do their job well, but when they don't they very often cost their team games. How many missed XPs were there this week? I can't recall any other week with so many across the league.

Hopefully. But his 2 seasons with the Saints weren't exactly elite. Both worse than McManus in fact, and we dumped him. McManus fwiw takes a lot of kicks from outside 50 too so his stats look worse than perhaps they should.

I didn't like the Vance Joseph hiring at the time and through 2 games it's looking worse and worse.

The offense certainly isn't without fault fwiw but the D looks woeful
Wow, just watched. Diabolical. Both sides of the ball. Hard to fathom what changed from the first 30 minutes on. Discipline and decision making also all over the place. It's hard to recognise the current organisation as the Denver Broncos, as we've always known them.

Critical penalties in big moments seems to be a thing with our D. Losing Jackson hurt, our DB depth is fairly poor tbh, and while we've invested in our pass rush we don't seem to generate consistent pressure.

Our offensive line is just bad.

Russ hasn't been as diabolical as last yr but still hasn't been great. His stats on the weekend were inflated by a Hail Mary and another long TD, in between it was C grade stuff. 2 games in a row the first half he's looked like prime Russ then pumpkin Russ in the 2nd. Makes me think Payton is able to script up some good business in the first half but then the 2nd rolls around and Russ can't get it done.

On the + side though, Perine looks like a good get. He and Javonte I like as a 1-2.

What the hell!?!?

  • Fourth 70-plus-point game in NFL history (including postseason). The other three were the 1940 Bears (73 in the NFL championship game) the 1966 Washington team (72), and the 1950 Rams (70).
  • Second-most yards in a game in NFL history (726) ... only the 1951 Rams (735) had more in the NFL record book.
  • First team in NFL history with five passing TDs and five rushing TDs in a game.
  • Second team in NFL history with multiple players with four TDs in a game (2004 Chiefs were the other).
  • Second team since at least 1940 with 300-plus pass yards and 300-plus rush yards in a single game (the 2012 49ers also accomplished this).
  • Ran 71 plays and averaged 10.2 yards per play -- the most yards per play by a team with 70-plus offensive plays ran since 1960
  • Second-largest win in franchise history (beat Patriots, 52-0 in 1972)
  • First 50-point win in the NFL since 2014 (Rams beat Raiders, 52-0)
  • The final score was one never before seen in the NFL.
And they could've had the highest ever NFL score by kicking a late FG, but decided to not embarrass us any further :drunk:

It looks like a college score, it's insane.

I genuinely wouldn't be surprised to see Joseph get sacked in the next 24-48 hrs. I can't believe we hired him again, he hasn't looked like a good D coordinator since being our HC, yet for some reason he keeps getting jobs. I was stunned when we hired him.

I wanted Rex, if for nothing else than you know the D would at least have personality and swagger. Under Joseph they almost look like they're worried about upsetting someone. If not Rex though, ANYONE but Joseph would've been better.

The offense has been better under Payton. It's not "fixed" or a great offense, but it's certainly better than last season. He's probably getting the best out of what Russ can give these days, scripting as much as possible and giving Russ easy options.

Interestingly going into the season, based off last yr, that seemingly was all we needed to start winning again. We had a top 5 defence so all that was needed was an offense that wouldn't sh** the bed every week. Now though we have a game managing offense but it's the D that sh**s the bed every week.

Brilliant.

Ive been a Broncos fan all my life.. started in 1981.

Ive seen and lived thru some shit but even in the whaloping SB loses - I still had hope and wasnt embarrassed.

Until today.

Russ and Payton have gotten better - you can see it - but the result was abysmal and cant be tolerated.

VJ needs to go just on principle alone.

That D was top 10 last year and has a similar list his year.

I have no words.

Pretty eye opening looking at the list of biggest plays for the Broncos this year, Mims everywhere, need to get Mims involved more on offense.

I think Steve sees a bit of himself in this, given he started out as a returner and WR 4 or 5 for the Panthers his rookie year.
