So what makes a country, the best country in the world? It's only natural when you live in a country that's free and has everything you could possibly want if you're prepared to earn it. Have you been to America, France and Germany?. If so, what's the problem with them?. They are all prosperous countries, why wouldn't the residents say they're the best country in the world. To call people narrow minded is very narrow minded. Australia has everything you could possibly want, what else would make it the best country in the world for you. A narrow minded person wouldn't live in a country that they didn't think was good for them. The choice can always be to go and make yourself a prosperous life in another country but I bet 90% would come back to Australia.

Depends on how you measure it, doesn't it? But seems a not great way of thinking about things. Some measurements: happiness, wealth gap (lack of), access to health, education, opportunity, lack of violence, weather you like.

We take our health care system here for granted a bit when you look at places like the US. Has its faults but at least you don’t need to seek your house if you break a leg here. Or get shot at school a few times a year

Dunno. Thailand pretty good.
A mate went last year and his missus booked couples massages every day at the resort before he got a chance to because she knows what the dodgey bastard would have done if he went alone. He was shattered. I’m sure you only know of fully qualified and certified physio technicians over there mate so this is probably a shock to you. 😂

It's a little sad to see sometimes. Blokes leaving the missus back at the hotel and than running amuck. Last month was my 8th year living here. Paradise.
I rarely see a tourist where I am now.
I prefer it that way. Peaceful yet lots to do.

We plan to retire in SEA - or a combo of SEA and Aust.

In terms of best country to live in - your income and how far it goes is a massive factor. I wouldn't want to be a tuk tuk driver in Bangkok or living on a minimum wage in Sydney.

Most countries are great when you've got spending power - but I love the ocean and the warmth and lushness of the tropics.

South East is the best mate. People here have a better quality of life. Anywhere really but avoid the tourist traps.
Zero taxes. The Thais live really well, even on minimum wages. If you or anyone need some guidance before you come here. Welcome to DM me.

If we win another flag we should do a Thailand Collingwood Supporters Footy Trip.

Totally true. Much prefer to live here than the US, personally. The best "society" I've lived in is Finland (but the weather... the food.... eek).. Love SE Asia. France is good. Italy where I'd live if I could. The US fun but as mentioned. Australia my home. Obviously, I don't know what the best country in the world is. Because it's a dumb thing to say about any of them. Each has good and bad. Australia more good than bad.
