How do you all think div2 teams like Lower, Greensy & Hurstbridge would go in division 1? Someone please rank the sides from both divisions to form a ladder from first to last!

i think Lower and Macleod are better than hursty who relly heavily on a couple of players.

yes i agree david, slanty ( daniel santoro ) is a gun
played school footy with him and hes a very good player and loves the rough stuff - lol - i remember one game in school footy v mazenod - lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
 
i thought i might aswell have a go at making a side. having played in both divisions and gathering other information from this thread i've came up with.

Totally agree with this comment, eltham will be an absolute powerhouse of the 19's league in 07. Big name players from u'17s should all continue into the 19's and all i can say is that the u'17s of 06 are one of the best teams in Austalia. the depth of the 17s this year was exceptional. Big recruits also rumoured.

Good side but surely Gebert from lower plenty was stiff to be left out, id have him in my best team no doubt

yer heard that aswell, wouldnt say they r close to the best 17s in australia, with the likes of bulleen ivanhoe and east burwood, takin the ranks.
who do u know that is going to eltham, and are they even garenteed a 19s

Eltham have had strong U17s for at least the last 3 or 4 years but havnt been able to fill an U19 team for these same years. whats going to be different next year? Dont get me wrong the sooner they do get a side the better the 3rds competion is going to be but I just cant see it happening myself.

What about Matty o'brien from wallan has played the last two years in our ones I think he should get a spot in the team.

Its pretty hard to say that they are def gettin 19s but they should cos there 17s are an awesome unit. how would you know if bulleen or ivanhoe were better than eltham they have never played, as for recruits not exactly sure who but have heard that they should get some average to decent players from yarra league clubs

there is about 6-10 definate additions to the team this year and majoirty are stayin on from this year. im pretty confident are few other blokes wil be goin to eltham 19s, some of those potentially from Yarrambat.

i can tel you that becuse the skil level of both ivanhoe and bulleen are alot better, game plans and the way they move the ball around is alot more evident within them two teams, compared to that of eltham. dont get me wrong, eltham are a good team and im plannin to be down there next year. but they would not be bulleen or ivanhoe.

Why is your name dv07 if you love yarra teams, anyway i dont know enough about those two to comment but if you are planning to be down at eltham next year good luck get a starting 18 position.

na i didnt say i love them mate i just know they r very good teams, i went to both the dv and yarra gf's and the yarra was alot more skilful.
im pretty sure id get a starting 18 position there mate, considering im playin 19s already and i played school football with TAC blokes gettin a statrting 18 position. dont want to sound cocky.

Yarra is a lot better than DV, I've played both leagues, watched both grand finals and the Yarra grand final was MILES ahead of the DV one in every aspect.

im from nunawading but get down occasionally to watch the eltham boys run around cos my mates brother plays there, i occasionally help out with little things but not to clear about all the boys names. Good to hear you thinkin of comin to a div1 club, im sure youll get a game i was just messin with ya, where u playin 19s this year?
 
yarra jfl alot better competition....you may say that it is softer but it only looks like that coz the ball is moved so much better and skillfully whereas dv is conjested bull****...Wen u come up against blokes like Clarke, Hayden Bryce, Hummer i wouldnt call it soft...
