The panel on League Teams and the panel of the Footy Show both sung Drew Petrie's praises , saying he has had a great year .

I'm not going out of my way to bag the bloke , but he has been far from great !

More proof to the belief that people must not watch us .

Very true but I'll happily take that over the usual dross like "their list is worse than Richmond's", which we've endured repeatedly till recent times, despite knowing better.

He's had better seasons but one pretty good game against the top team only now brings AA attention. One swallow does not make a summer. (Though they've been talking up Spitta too!)

At least it's now widely recognised that he's a KP Forward, and should remain there. The League Teams boys said tonight "He's the type of player who's so competitive and such a good contested mark that you could build a forward line around him."

He hasn't had the best year, but he hasn't been particularly bad either.

He's still helped us out where we've needed him... Mr Versatile.

Just because he doesn't have massive games all the time, doesn't mean he can be forgotten.

(with saying that, AA this year is quite a stretch).

Basically what I'm trying to say is I don't think he deserves to be bagged just because some people are finally giving the guy some praise.

Actually averaging more kicks, marks, goals and tackles (almost double) this year than 08, but no doubt he hasn't impacted matches (until last week) as much as in 08.

Tough to do when the side is struggling.

Poor bastard has played every spot on the ground this year. As a full time CHF in a half decent side, he'd rip it up. He would kick at least 60 in a top 4 side.

He has taken his game to another level this year. It hasn’t been obvious because our team is dysfunctional atm. Most forwards would struggle with our inside 50 count.

Thinks have looked up for him and for the side since Hale was dropped. He consistently competes up at FF, something Hale didn't do.

A preseaon with intensive work on his set shots and he'll be a KP Forward.

I think he's a pretty good set shot for goal.

I know he's missed a few but he's kicked some rippers as well. Miles ahead of Hansen or most of our other forwards for that matter.

Do you have any stats?

How come we can all see that he should b our key forward all the time yet the rabbits in charge will not put him there and leave him there? are we all missing something?

He's smashed the marks this year, 142 with the next best being turts at 108.

84 tackles (nothing close to swallow but he's just been incredible with that).

AND... Most goals which is crazy with the amount of time he's spent up forward. 24 goals and while that isn't exactly a lot, the dud year as a team explains it.

He's a very good footballer and has an amazing workrate, not just the hard leading of a riewolt but also the defensive pressure. Could be AA for CHF or CHB if he played in one position for a whole year.

yea it is strange

fev on the footy show the other night said petrie might be AA this year

it is interesting because IMO petrie has had a terrible year up until the carlton game

he has looked very good up forward in the last month or so and it would be great if he could play the whole 2010 season up there

He's on btg drekly.
