Played junior footy against Liam Hendriks. He switched to baseball and is now playing in MLB earning a shit tonne of cash. The biggest thing I remember about Hendriks was his dad was the coach and would always give him the biggest sprays. Needless to say poor old Liam was in tears most games.

Nice, I play baseball with him (locally) and see him everytime he's back. He's doing pretty well for Oakland now. Built like a tank too.

Played(u14's-colts) for club (Pomona) and Sunshine Coast rep with Alik (suns) and Rhys Magin (dons).
Played with Ash Sampi for about four games in 2014 at South Hedland Swans, and in one of those games Leon Davis was lining up for the other side (Karratha Kats).

Those teams always had a scattering of ex AFL or WAFL players come through when working up there. Joe Angel played or plays cricket up there. Imagine facing up to someone like him on those concrete pitches.

Also played school footy with Jack Darling. And I played against Jesse Hogan a couple of times. Wasn't as good back then but is a beast now.

Pomona has a great outlook never played on a ground like it, like a postcard.

Played with Dane Rampe. He was the very definition of average. A bit fat, as slow as treacle, and his skills weren't anything to write home about. Every time I see him on TV, I shake my head as I note the reality of AFL being a broad church, open to anyone of any skill and that that could've been me if I wasn't so busy at university smashing... Xbox with my mates sun up til sun down.

Segue into ... played baseball against Justin Charles after his troubles when he was running around for Port Melbourne. Big lad, had some power.

Played U14's and U16's for Taylors Lakes against Michael Rischitelli when he was at Keilor. He used to sit in the middle / wing and tear us a new one.

We used to win every game except against Keilor and Strathmore. Bastards. Honestly thought strathmore's CHF at the time would make to AFL level. Didn't get drafted. Was a gun though

Cornes was a muscly build compared to the other school boy footballers

Both those observations turned out to be pretty ironic

I was around the same height as him in 4ths, once we got to 3rds he was twice the size of me. absolute monster

Played against Brent Guerra a few times.

Also did little athletics with Ian Prendergast who just annihilated everyone. Thought he was going to be an Olympian.
Had no idea he played footy haha

Played against Judd and others at National Champs. Did 2 preseasons as a potential mid with Lions in 1999 and 2000 (fat chance cracking that rotation).

Played with and against Daniel Merrett, used to and still do shake my head at him making it. Same for Brad Miller and Joel MacDonald.
