I thought Didak was great today and played mainly a a mid-fielder. I would like to know how many of his passes to the forwards resulted in goals? One of, if not the best, kickers of the footballer presently playing today...Beautiful to watch.

We didn't lose a player for nothing. We made sure clubs were aware that Port Adelaide wernt going to trade quality for crap and take the soft option.

True loser? Hmm i dont think so winning a premiership i think made up for it and also seeing you go downhill the same year. True loser here without doubt would have to be Nick Stevens.

Nick Stevens was the biggest loser. We got a premiership, you kept a star player. He went to carlton

Both teams should have done a deal, but Nick Stevens was a :D:D:D about it, Collingwood wanted to get a quality player for less than his market value, and Port didn't want to get screwed over.

Port are over it, Collingwood are over it, Nick stevens...well, he can go to hell

Your spot on there!!! Stevens desperately wanted to get to Collingwood and instead got stuck with Carlton what a ****er! Missed out on a premiership with Port, could have played in a very good Collingwood team...but Carlton Ha ha ha ha !!!

I actually feel sorry for him. MM, if either I or you had the talent to play AFL that could be me or you. You have to respect the fact that as a boy who grew up supporting Collingwood, he wanted to play for Collingwood.

Who knows, he may one day play for Collingwood. Who would want to play for Carlton. Even if you grew up supporting them. (Just kidding there Carlton supporters)

Well, he never specified he wanted to go to Collingwood until the end. Up till then, he just wanted to go home. Tbh, Nick Stevens was a premiere midfielder in the competition, and Collingwood didnt seem like they either
a) really wanted him, or
b) had enough respect for him,
So if Nick Stevens was a good guy, he would have realised that Port were going to get screwed over, and stayed with Port... or he would do what he did...

No sympathy from me.

As a PA supporter I wouldn't expect you to be unhappy with Stevens. However, as a Collingwood supporter, I respect the fact that he wanted to play for Collingwood.

FWIW My uncle somehow knew a member of his family, and the fact is he wanted to play for Collingwood from the day he made his debut with PA.

It was on the cards a long time before 2003. I hope he does well for himself at Carlton. But I can understand where your coming from.

FFS why does every thread about Didak have to turn into a Nick Stevens thread.

Didak is a gun, he has great vision and skills, and his workrate is up on previous years.

Stevens was one that got away, I would still love to have him at Collingwood, he has class, and while he will never be a Buckley replacement, I still hold hopes that one day he will get sick of playing for Carlton, request a trade and be wearing a Collingwood jumper...

Didak is playing supremely well at the moment. So is Dane Swan, and alot of your players. However, he needs to keep up his work rate. 10 weeks isn't enough imo, to be classified as a gun.

We'll see how he goes this season, and if he continues his stellar form, then you may be on to something. But really, he needs to string a few successful seasons together to be considered a class act. Nick Stevens has done that

Didak has been a gun this SEASON then. ;)

Leading the league in goal assists by a mile, I think he got another 4 or 5 tonight.

The only thing that was lacking from Didak in previous seasons was his workrate and consistency, the talent was always there and it was always a matter of whether he could improve the defensive side of his game, and he's certainly done that this year, hence = gun. ;)

so how do you explain the josh carr deal 1 year later?

just face it. you tried to prove a point with stevens. Josh carr 1 year later showed you didn't prove sh|te.

Thats crap. "Trading" Nick Stevens didnt give you a premiership. Your list was already good enough to do that. Giving away Stevens ensured your slide to the bottom was quicker than it would have otherwise been.

Didak is having a good year, but the guy would be scared of his own shadow, a bet he doesn't get a kick in finals unless Collingwood is in front. Put someone tough on him and he will be looking over his shoulder every minute of the game!

his shadow caused adam cooney to get a bit nervous a couple of weeks ago.

Yes you won a flag without Setevens or Didak/Presti/Scotland/pick 35 and a first round draft pick. Now you need players. It was always a long term decision.

Whether Collingwood went downhill is irelevant. We would have gone downhill with or without Stevens but we were and are gald we kept Didak. We (club/supporters) always said didak was more value to us than Stevens.

Didak has a pretty good finals record, and has on occasion won games for us, bringing us from behind.

You mean like Robert Copeland, one of the better taggers in the AFL?
